HUGE test for Lopez, going up against Duncan and the Spurs defense.

I don't see us winning this one at San Antonio. At least make it close.

Yeah, it'll be very interesting to see how Lopez plays these next few games.

If he continues to beast like he has been, I'll officially be off of the "Trade Lopez for star player" bandwagon. He's been playing very good.

I also think this is a good test for Deron, to see if his shooting is back up to par, because he has been shooting a lot better as of late.

In his last 7 games, the Nets are just 3-4, and he's only averaging 16/6, but less than 3 TOpg, and on 59% TS (on 46/37/78). We're going to need a big game from him obviously if we hope to steal a miracle win against SA.

I think he's just been more conservative with shot selection.

Avery was trying to tell him to shoot his way out of his "slump" and even when that wasn't working, he still told him shoot.

As a PG, D-Will could've used more of his possessions to actually setup others rather than look for his shot.

It just seems like common sense to me what to do with Deron...stop making him play like a SG, and running him off screens, because his shot isn't working at all right now. Keep the ball in his hands, but instead of forcing him to try and take people off the dribble, use a lot more PnRs, and run the offense through Deron in the post so that he can play closer to the basket, draw doubles, and find guys by the basket or open for three. He's an excellent post up PG.

Not saying Deron is anywhere close to Magic, but that's how Magic operated later in his career when his limited ability to take guys off the dribble wasn't there anymore, and he was as effective as ever.

Its really the main reason why Avery deserved to be fired. As much as Deron has struggled with injuries and/or might not be the leader/superstar people have considered him to be he was put in a bad position this whole season. Playing off the ball as a shooter just isn't his game and its definitely not what made him one of the best PG in his years with the Jazz.

Lopez has to be ready for the challenge mentally...sometimes you see during games within the first quarter he appears defeated, and chalks it up to the Spurs being the Spurs...

Part of Brook's development is making his presence felt on both sides of the floor and making sure the Spurs defend him and pay attention to him...For us to have a chance the Spurs cannot drive the lane without any concerns...we need to make them think and hopefully alter some shops while out-rebounding them...

Brook needs to play big effectively and attack the basket with authority using quick aggressive moves...keep him w/in the 8ft/paint area having the majority of his touches come as close to the basket as possible...If he is clicking maybe try some sweeping moves or jumpers mixed in...

Lopez needs to continue to concentrate on reading the defense and moving the ball...

Very interested to see how this game is going to play out, but I'm really not expecting a W. I'm actually expecting something like a 17 point loss.

However I agree with what you guys are saying.... Deron has been more effective lately and hopefully he continues that.... Lopez has been beasting and hopefully he can prove to everyone he can still do it going up against the best PF of all time.... JJ just need to hit his open shots dammit!

We have the talent to match them and we SHOULD make it a game but the Spurs have been a top 5 offensive and defensive team this year. We're going to need to bring our A+ game. This is a good test for sure.

PJ mentioned this briefly but they play at one of the fastest paces in the league - so it should be interesting to see if we can keep up. I personally think we're much better when we push the pace and let our players play freely. I wonder how they're going to switch up the 2nd unit minutes. I expect Deron to start running that unit instead of Joe Johnson.

Hopefully the Nets were watching film from at least one of the Spur's losses during the middle of the month...losing 4 out of 5 all away (beating Boston @ home in between two losses)...minus the OKC game, there should be some good film on how the Jazz, Blazers or Nuggets beat the Spurs on their home courts...

At this point, beating SA is simple: KEEP THEM OFF THE 3 POINT LINE AT ALL COSTS

i dont see us staying competitive tonite. there is plenty of film on us now defensively, and the spurs execute better then anyone in the league offensively. there are going to be a ton of uncontested layups and wide open 3's

i see a 20 point loss unless they brick all their threes and jj or dwill has an elite performance. even so we likely lose
