Westbrook didn't do all that well against Morris in their one matchup this year. In fact he's got the exact profile Westbrook struggles against:

- Long
- Athletic
- Strong getting through screens
- Aggressive

which leave nash and kobe on martin and durant??

think before you post

It leaves Nash and Kobe on Thabo and Durant. Martin doesn't start and Morris doesn't play more than 10-15 min a game.

And at the end of the game? When it counts the most?

It'd be suicide to not have artest on Durant

I think it was pretty creative of D'Antonni to go with Morris. It really fills a need that is missing on the team...the athletic defender. He tried Ebanks but decided Morris is better. I agree. Morris is a better defender, can actually get out on the break, and is a better spot up shooter in the corner too.

He's basically filling the classic "Bruce Bowen" type role. The guy who guards the team's best offensive player and is limited offensively. He seems to relish the role and that is a good thing. Really well done of the coaching staff. The Lakers could still use someone better perhaps but this might work out. Morris just needs to work on hitting the corner. He should be living there in practice.

Then we put artest on durant... it's not like we're playing the 5 starters only with each other for the entire game.

I think he is pretty much an energy guy used for a little defense and limiting other players mins. That's about it.

I think, in order to keep the rotations consistent, we need to start Morris or Ebanks depending on the other team's roster, with MWP and Meeks getting most of those minutes. For examples, against the Knicks, Thunder, Heat, Grizzlies, we start Ebanks, MWP comes in soon into the game, rotations stay the same, and Morris gets a DNP. Against pretty much everyone else, we start Morris, MWP comes in soon, rotations stay the same, and Ebanks gets a DNP. I'm not even the biggest fan of either player, but it seems like coach has found a solid formula with the rotations, but it doesn't make sense to have Morris guarding Durant/Melo/Lebron and it sure doesn't make sense to have Kobe guarding them.

I'd rather start MWP and play Jamison against those other teams if that's what it came down to.

Delonte would be a perfect piece instead of these dumb experiments...I don't care of his past, he should be with the lakers now! Sign him before its too late.
Kwame Brown is servicable, get over it.

Return to Los Angeles Lakers
