Nothing like ringing in the new year with alcohol and also a Bobcats win. Have a happy and safe new year everyone!

getting there

I've never seen that before but anything that has "Devil" and "90 proof" on the labeling makes me think it would be a perfect fit with me.

I remember going through a stage in the early 2000's where I couldn't get enough Frangelico over a half filled glass of crushed ice.

Great way to end a night.

quality scotch is some of the tastiest stuff I've ever had. Keep it neat with maybe a splash of water and you're golden for a good time. Lots of people like it with a cigar, but I'm not much of a smoker so I can't personally attest to it

Thik it's new. Supposed to be a riff on the "angel's share" that evaporates. They pour water back into the barrel after they remove the whiskey to draw more of the flavoring out of the oak that soaked into the wood.

I love it though. Nice and smooth with a good cinnamon note on the aftertaste. You like the dark or the light stuff?

My buddy is a Gluten allergy - so when I am with him that is what we drink.

And ya, not a bad drop.

Interesting. I'll keep an eye out for it up here. I love your explanation of it. I could almost taste it!!

I'm more likely to lean towards the dark stuff.

looks like you answered that one. Not a wine guy but Sapporo is a one of my favorite beers. I've tried a lot of the asian stuff thanks to my girlfriend and her family and it's definitely up there.

Soco is "okay". Not really something I like neat or with ice but it's a solid mix with (cherry) coke.

Would never drink SoCo neat. Only ever with coke or dry - and the only reason I'll drink it tonight is because my Gluten free buddy's wife loves Alabama Slammers.

I used to drink SoCo a lot back in the day though.

Pity you don't like wine. You obviously have a solid palate. I think you would really enjoy the flavours and experience.

I freaking love wines.

What is your hot girlfriends families beer of choice?

(and for those who haven't seen her: SWedd's girlfriend is hot. Still can't believe he hasn't got a ring on that finger yet!!)

I love scotch, probably a bit too much, have it with ice and let it melt a little.

i drink it more than beer now. the only down side is I find myself getting accidently drunk.

this was my first time trying scotch liqueur.

a trip down to the south of WA was enough to get me onto wine. So many fantastic wineries down there, its always a fantastic holiday whenever we go.

have become a bit of a shiraz drinker myself, while the missus became addicted to semi sauv blancs.

I like both reds and whites. Cab Sav generally but when it comes to a smoking hot summers day you can't go past a good Semi Sauv Blanc.

I'm guessing Mrs Sachmo loves her some Four Sisters?

The problem I have is alllllllll of the choices. so being a poor college student makes it an issue if I spring for a quality bottle and miss on it. I'm sure it's good if you get the right stuff but it's dangerous for me.

One of her aunt/uncle runs a liquor store so they get the choice of the litter. They usually have a ton of stuff from heineken to remy martin, but they typically have some kind of cold sake and Sapporo/Kirin/Ashasi or whatever it's called.

And I like it so I'm gonna put a ring on it. As soon as I graduate after next semester and join the army

don't think we've tried 4 sisters. Most of her favourites are from down south.

Edwards Wine/Tigers Tail (were 2 separate companies, father/son, until father died and they combined them)
do some fantastic whites.
otherwise she liked evans & tate, Howard Park, Donnelly River.

its like shooting fish in a barrel around the Margaret River area, you just can't miss.
