Dr Positivity wrote:Repeating it for a few threads, but I REALLY disagree with Rubio getting nominated this early. His career statline is 11 pts/8.6 asts/2.3 stls per 36 minutes, his assist numbers cooled off big time the last 15 Gs of his rookie year and has major holes in his skillset (non dominant athleticism, terrible jumpshot) - he's not some proven young star. Then add in the ACL tear and how he's looked since he came back? Drummond has played only slightly less games than him and potentially dominant Cs have huge trade value. I would even nominate Derrick Favors who is a poor man's Drummond in trade value, over Rubio
Trade Value is different from player value tho. What you are ignoring is that he has to be a top 5-7 guy already as far as being a bankable star. Hes only behind for sure: Lebron, Durant and Blake Griffin. And way ahead of most of the other guys being considered. Add in his age and his on-court ability and his value is sky-high. It would take a king's ransom to pry him loose from Minny and for good reason. Note they didnt give Love the 5 year max deal (and alienated him in the process) because they were saving it for Rubio. He is very valuable.
