I don't see how this benefits the Cavs. They pass easily.

Heat fan here (come in peace)! I know Kyrie Irving is your franchise player, but the guy on Gen. Board made a good point when he suggested he's more of a scoring guard than a true point. In this trade you get more of a true point guard (with a flattop ), a superstar SG, and get rid of a guy you don't want (it seems) in Verajao. So, I have this offer to propose:

MIA Trades:
Norris Cole
Dwyane Wade

CLE Trades:
Kyrie Irving
Dion Waiter
Anderson Verajao
2013 1st

This makes no sense for the Cavs at all.

moves that could have tue cavs in the ECF fiinals next year.

Post#305 » by fart » Mon Dec 31, 2012 7:07 am

So I was thinking of a few very realistic moves that would put us in the ECF finals next year and this is what I came up with.

First off, get Cousins. In exchange for:
2013 cle 1st unprotected
2015 cle 1st
2013 cle 2nd
2013 orlando 2nd
Take on salmons if necessary

I know you are all obssesed with draft picks, but we are already starting 4 players that have been in the league for less than 2 years. You can only develop so much young talent at one time. That is why I don't mind giving up the 2013 lotto pick. Besides, do you think that grant will be able to draft a better prospect than cousins with that pick? I don't

2nd, throw money at oj mayo this summer. I believe he is a big time player and can be really good playing with kyrie

2014 lineup

Irving/Waiters
Mayo/Waiters
Gee/Mayo
Varejao/Thompson
Cousins/Zeller

That lookks like a damn good team to me and one that is built to beat the heat.

Thoughts?

Ok put miles at the backup sf if that makes you feel better. The main point is that we have a big 4 of irving/mayo/varejao/cousins along with a 6th man in waiters and two capable backups in thompson and zeller as bigs

The kings team that Cousins already plays on has more talent than those ECF Cavs have.

I think if that was really up for consideration I'd need to know all about the locker room situations to date with Cousins. Physical injuries are one thing. Mental issues are another.

Why? let's say the Heat are a lock for the ECF, what other team in the East could stop a big 4 of Irving/Mayo/Varejao/Cousins from reaching the ECF? the east is awful.

Last I checked, Irving is better than anyone on that team. Also mayo is better than anyone not named cousins on that team.

Isn't it kind of idiotic to focus on getting to the ECF if you have no chance of winning it and absolutely no chance to win the chip?

The logic is flawed

AND this severly overrates Cousins.

With a name like fart, it has to be a logical and well thought out idea. Obviously the Kings do not have a guy like Irving, however their sum total of guys is better than the guys on our roster at this moment. Adding Cousins and Mayo to the garbage fire of a roster we got going on right now may add 10-15 extra wins, but we would still struggle to get to the playoffs. Mayo is the best player on a 12-19 Dallas squad. Cousins is on a team that's 11-19. These guys would be elevating their respective squads to near .500 ball if they were truly impact players.

Why would they have absolutely no chance of beating the Heat in the ECF? Let's look at the matchups.

Irving>>Chalmers
Mayo<Wade
Gee<<Lebron
Varejao>Haslem
Cousins=Bosh (this is the wildcard matchup)

Both benches are pretty solid too.

that looks like a well evened matchup that either team could win.
