I said this when we first hired Hennigan. He is a Presti clone. They are doing everything the exact same way. The only difference is, we don't have our true star yet. They had their star during Presti's first season as GM.

Maybe we do have our tru star right now but we just dont see it completely yet. maybe vuc harkless or nicholson are our franchise stars but just need more time to grow and prove it. if i remember correctly durant wasnt the monster he is today when he first came into the league but as the years have passed hes transformed into a star

maybe a quick rebuild ? or at least a playoff team

I like the Al Jefferson deal but I really do not like the trade getting Francisco Garcia and Kwahi Leonard

you have to use the trade exception.
tell if it a good idea or a bad idea?
here is the link for the trade on this form two http://basketball.realgm.com/tradecheck ... de/6192105
if for Glen Davis and Al Harrington for Paul Millsap and Al Jefferson

and make me a counter trade that get me those two Al Jefferson and Paul Millsap

That is a great trade for us, but Utah laughs as they hang up the phone on that.

Well since we seem to be posting trade ideas I thought I would see if we could do a trade with the Clippers. I am fully aware that I might get flamed on this and be asked "What am I smoking?" but want to see what you all think of this

Well, it's definitely something we should pull the trigger on, even if I'm not very high on Jordan. Giving up such garbage for Bledsoe and a big expiring in Odom is absolutely a move you'd want to make. Jordan is undeniably athletically gifted, but overpaid for what he is, which is a high-flying defense oriented center. No real post presence/not the smoothest of shots, but a good shot blocker and rebounder, and can always be counted to alley-oop the dunks. I see him as a poor man's Dwight with even less to work with offensively. With how people are over paid, his contract isn't too bad. Obtaining him would be detrimental to Vuc's development however I feel.

There's just no way we basically only give up JJ as a truly desirable asset and throw in our large contract of Hedo, a serviceable cheap big in Ayon, and a bottom-dwelling PG on a small contract to get Bledsoe (a budding young PG with loads of potential), a nice expiring in Odom, and a decent center in Jordan on a reasonable contract.

We'd have to give up draft picks, young talent such as at least one of Vuc, Hark, Nicholson, cash, we might even have to bring in a 3rd team to get that kind of return from LAC. If there was any way LAC would be rash enough to bite on a deal like this, Henny would take it and run all the way to the bank, despite Odom being somewhat of a head case.

If it's a trade just to try & make a "PLAYOFF TEAM"....I DONT WANT IT

I want a team that is capable of WINNING the CHAMPIONSHIP!!!

Way too many teams that stick around mediocre for wayyyyy too long. I know Henny is way too smart for that.

So adding Al FREAKING Jefferson is a no go.

Nice imagination though.

Now the Eric Bledose trade ideas I DEF AGREE WITH.

It would give us a franchise PG going forward....& A VERY GOOD ONE.

Frees us from thinking PG in the draft & gives us a nice Bledsoe...Harkless/Jones......Nicholson......Vucevic to build around.

A McLemore/Goodwin pick up in the draft would be huge.

Bledsoe
Goodwin
Harkless
Nicholson
Vucevic

For the future?

That is not true, atleast not here on RealGM
I remember Durant getting ALOT of hate, the first year and a half, to 2 years in the league. Many thought he was the next Glenn Robinson, at the time Durant was seen as a pure chucker who didn't make his teammates better. To his credit he has significantly improved as an all around player

I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.

Not sure we can project Bledsoe as a franchise pg, not until his A/TO ratio improves, then maybe he could be Rondo 2.0

Rondo 2.0?

He is way more explosive than Rondo & has a better jump shot.....No where near Rondo as of now in passing ability.

Well, ESPN does not allow you to add cash or draft picks to the deals so I agree there would have to be a sweetener in there other than JJ. I made this trade as instant salary cap relief to the Clippers because Hedo can be bought out next year, JJ is expiring, Goose is not guaranteed next year, and Ish is not guaranteed next year either. So it essentially allows them to be players in the FA this year (and not in 2014 when we are trying to be)

I will admit I was not thinking how much the trade might impact the growth of Vucevic but like we do now in the "twin towers" when we play goose and Nik together there is no reason you could not play DeAndre and Nik together. Nik has a decent jump shot he can work with while Jordan does the dirty work and clog the paint.

Just my train of thought is all

This is accurate, Durant had a TS% of 51 and a PER of only 15.8 his rookie year; he was a decent, if inefficient scorer who sucked at everything else.

Not a chance the Clips do that trade.

Your talking about the Clips trading their starting Center who is their defensive anchor with Bledsoe who is coveted around the league plus an Expiring in Odom for just JJ, because Ayon, Hedo and Ish don't do nothing for that team the way they are stacked.

I hope the Clips fans don't see this trade because that is an insult. Sorry to be blunt.

Durant was getting absolutely destroyed on realgm until the end of his sophomore year. He was seen as a black hole chucker. Oden was far and away the best prospect in that draft - the Thunder lucked out getting the 2nd pick.

Just goes to show you that if players have the talent and truly dedicate themselves to the game and proving people wrong, they can do anything, even become superstars. I truly didn't think JJ or Ryno would last in the league during their rookie seasons. But, they proved me wrong.

Now, it is Hedo's turn again because BBD already proved himself.
