HOU power forward situation

Hey guys, I've got a question regarding the starting Power forward position.
Patterson was playing great earlier in the year. He cooled off but that could probably be atributed to the bone bruise. Morris has done a great job filling in and the HOU record has been great with Morris starting.
Do you guys think Morris will keep the job? Even if he doesn't, is it likely it will be a timeshare between the two players?

I think that Mook (morris) remains the starter for now. He seems to really click with this first team unit a bit better than Patterson right now.

I know that Patt is still a bit hobbled by the injury and I think that he'll come back sooner, rather than later; but stick with the lineup that's clicking.

I don't know. Morris has struggled at times too and hasn't really been a strong rebounder either. I think the win streaks we've been having are more of a product of our back-court finally thriving together or someone like Asik going off, with Morris just there at the time.

I say they split time and go with the hot hand. These past few games have me thinking Patterson might still be the best PF on our roster, until Smith develops a jumper or D Mo rebounds and can defend bruisers in the paint.

Although if Morris plays with focus and doesn't disappear in games when they matter, the spot should stay his though I think.

I think we will stick with what has been working for now but Morris can't defend like pat can and thats our second biggest problem right now(our first is turnovers). As good as morris has played he still doesn't have a back to the basket game and he gets lost on a lot of rotations. Eventually I think the lineup will go back to pat starting and mook coming off the bench but I hope mook still gets a lot of playing time...

Morris is a better shooter than Pat, and I think he keeps the starting position as of now because at our pace, we probably won't be posting up too much anyways. I still think Mook has potential to be a face up 4.

He's already a face up floor spacing 4. Its just that he is dreadfully small..... We are perpetually undersized with him at PF.

Morris future is similar to Al Harrington, scorer PF from the bench.

Trade Patterson and a second round pick for Landry, or a straight up trade with Sacramento for Hayes.

How our current PF situation is right now we should just be putting the PF that best compliments that line-up on the floor, and for the starting line-up that has to be Morris due to how the offense has been clicking with him there.

Patterson being the better defender is also a nice fit for the 2nd unit when Asik goes out.

What would it take for Atlanta to loosen its grip on Al Horford? 12 million a year for a front court player of that caliber is a good deal.

I personally think if we can somehow get our hands on Cousin's it'd make things a lot more interesting. He'd be perfect to work with McHale, is very athletic, and would especially help us get an more established (potentially to be an all-star caliber PF) post player. He'd also fit nicely with the pace this team places at, I know it's a long-shot, but this wouldn't be the first time we'd be dealing with a headcase from Sac-Town.

I'm with you. Everybody seems to be against Cousin but the dude is still young and has a ton of talent that is worth the gamble. With him and Asik on the floor we might have the best rebounding frontcourt in the league. If we can get him cheaply I'm all for it, but it really depends on what the Kings are asking for.

probably patterson and morris would be what the kings want for cousins....but if we do take a big chance on cousins...i would only give 2 out of the 4( patterson, morris, tjones, smith)....

Don't the Kings also have stable of young 4's?
Im not sure we would be good trade partners, but it would be awesome if we could get Hayes & Cousins from them.

Their situations aren't even close to being similar. Cousins even with his attitude problems still has produced monster numbers. A lot of his gripe is that the Kings are basement dwellers and that he doesn't agree with the team coaching (he wants to be the man there, get more touches, etc.). Him coming to winning team with a legit superstar in Harden would be the perfect fit for him. I have no doubt in my mind he would flourish here but the question remains if and how much the Kings are asking for Cousins. I really don't think they have much interest in what we have to offer. I think they will be looking for draft picks and expirings due to their impending relocation/sale of the team.

This is obviously the position the rockets can upgrade via trade. I just hope Morris stays.
