Any predictions at what they'll go in that stretch? I'd say 1-4 at best, the lone win against Denver. And that's a maybe haha.

its going to be a do or die for lakers.

Sat in the 108 section.

Thought a game against the Sixers would be a gimme.

Should've known the Lakers would've partied too hard and played like ass instead.

In the end, free throws and crappy outside shooting prevented the Lakers making any decent run. Turner and Hawes kept shooting the Sixers away.

NB. Every time we tried to start a defense chant in the crowd the Sixers would hit a long jumper. FML

Sad, but true, and at this time of the season already :nonono:. If that 1-4 holds true, they'll still be under .500 after that at 17-20. At the pace the top teams in the West are going, they might just have to go 32-10 the rest of the way to even make the playoffs for the 6-8 seed.

I think you guys needs another guy who can draw fouls and make them in the FT line aside from Kobe. Just look at OKC, if their perimeter shots aren't falling, they've got Westbrook and Durant who can draw fouls and shoot their way to victory thru FTs.

With regards to your team's defense, I think you just have to live with Nash being a liability on defense. And that's why you guys traded for D12 to anchor your team's defense. I thought Lakers did a good job by opting for the lesser evil by protecting the paint and forcing the 76ers' big man to take mid range jump shots. It's just that 76ers big men, specially Hawes, were just knocking their shots.

For me, the problem is in your offense. Your team's offense needs to be good enough to carry whatever deficiencies your team has on defense. The offense should be so good that it dictates the game that it frustrates the opposing team every game.

Somehow some way we need to find some consistent scoring outside of Kobe....

We lose so many games because we can't simply knock down wide open shots. :(

.... And yes Pau's Gawdawful defense is a huge reason we struggle also. Anybody with a basketball IQ of 3 can figure that out. Seeing teams go at him play after play in crunch time sickens my stomach.

Why, why why. Home used to be a 95% sure win. These days it is 30-40 % chance to win. At lease the over hyped clippes lost. who cares about them anyway. We need to regroup and come out with some energy next game. Clippers will blow the lakers out if the lakers come out flat footed again.

I'm still a believer that they did realize it, but in an effort to not lose the 5% of Pau we have left are trying to stroke his ego in a starting role. What they should be doing is hiring him some hookers to let them do the stroking while he comes off the bench with my boy Metta.

Bad loss on both offense and defense. Offense didn't have the movement or shooting needed to create space for the big men and the bigs weren't that active except Hill. Defensively, we couldn't guard a chair last night.

Your analysis is based WAY too much off of one game. Watch the last game and the Lakers looked the best offense in the league. And the defense looked very good.

There was a lot more to this game. Nash as a liability for one thing should not have been such a big deal. The worst thing they did was leave Nash on Holiday. That means Nash has to waste all his energy playing D. That's a mistake. J-Rich didn't score at all when Nash guarded him. He should have been on Turner or Young when they were. Make those guys beat you.

Anyway, the team was terrible in general. There are several issues.

It was one of those nights where the Lakers, just didnt show up. Are they old? Yes, but I dont think that was the factor last night. They had a few days off, that may have been part of it. D12 had a bad game, he couldnt even score 3 feet from the basket. Pau, he is part of the problem, if the Lakers are luck enought to make the Playoff, he will be a non-factor. Its best the Lakers part ways, I dont know what the would get for him, but something needs to happen.

Management looking really bad right now.

they shot 3/22 from the 3-point line. I don't think we could beat the bobcats by shooting as bad as this. and we couldn't post up d12 because he needs spacing, so he shot 1/7.

Anyways, he got put more energy into holding the **** ball. come on. it's getting sad right now at how easily he gets stripped.

and if we aren't shooting there's no point into running 1/5 PnRs, too.

knowing this D'Antoni should've focused on D by benching Gasol or went all in with offense, by playing 3 guards + artest at the 4 and d12 as our only bigman. He did neither and we lost.

I dunno why but I cannot help but rationalize losses like this one, guys. Seems very logical to me... I only hope we can get to the PO injury free then we'll see.

I didn't know pau asked to not be benched in crunch time, so that's D'Antoni's reason... I like what Mike is doing but soon enough he'll have to set his mind and forget about anyone's personal feeling.

I like what he's doing, seriously.

Hopefully we can get something good by trading Gasol if not then hope he can get his confidence back (getting harder and harder).

So much fail in this post, when you average 102.8 and rank 5th overall how in the hell is offense the problem ?

The problem is what every Laker fan knows.........DEFENSE, plain and simple.

They could have tried that lineup with Hill. We made our comeback with him. Atleast try it out.

Hill is a perfect role player. I do think him on the bench is better for the Lakers.

Yeah, I like his energy off the bench. I don't think he's starter material.
