Man I dunno, maybe I am the only one thinking this way...Prokhy is already paying 11.49 million in tax money what the hell is the difference if he is paying another 10 million...if he wanted AK he could of had him, he made 10 million before he woke up yesterday...come on now...
If Dwight was signed, he was looking at 145 million smack...correct me if I am wrong going off the link below...
I had this bookmarked not exactly sure if 100% accurate...

I like your conspiracy theory, but it is a pretty outlandish scenario...

It's not about Proky paying 10 mill more lux tax money, it is about salary cap rules.
After signing Teletovic, we only had veteran minimums to offer because of CBA rules.
Even for Teletovic we weren't allowed to pay more than the 3 mill per year mini-MLE, beause we are a tax paying team.
To be able to get 10 million under the salary cap, we would have had to renounce our bird rights to Humphries, Wallace AND Lopez too.
That's how expensive JJ and Deron are by themselves.
Obviously, we didn't want Kirilenko more than Hump + Crash + Lopez
This is a soft salary cap, you can go over it with trades (for tax paying teams the incoming salaries can be 125% +100K of the outgoing salaries), but you can not sign free agents outside of the yearly MLE exeption, and vet minimum contracts.

That's what my my conspiracy theory is about.
Since we couldn't get AK as a FA, we asked another team with capspace to sign him, so we can trade for him mid-season.
The 3 year 30 mill deal that Minny gave to Kirilenko came out of nowhere, and looked pretty outlandish at that time, as he had no other big offers, and he was reportedly contemplating our vet min offer. Accidentally, Minny owns another russian guy, who we probably want to acquire, Shved.
We obviously resigned Hump to be a trade chip later.
We have a lot of draft picks, and rights to Bogdanovic, which all might be interesting for Minny.
It turns out that AK and Shved are playing much better for them than expected, and that might drive up the price (which according to my totally baseless conspiracy theory was agreed already in the summer)

He would get us Lin + Harden + some other players
He would get us D-Wil + Lopez (Lopez is about the worst contract in the league)
Dwight has SERIOUS value.

Fans don't make trades; GMs and franchises do.
Fans don't care about salaries and saving money. They just want to see their team win at any cost.
Assets are way more complicated than just how good a player is.
A team going from $5mil under the cap to the $17mil under for free agent spending is HUGE difference.
You go from being able to spend the money ona role player on the bench to just having a shade under a max salary contract in 2014 offseason. That's huge!
having 17 million in cap room for the wizards is pretty useless, since no one is going to want to come play there. whats the best case? that they slightly overpay a solid front court players? isnt that just the exact same thing they have now with Nene?
there is 0 chance they deal nene for cap room.
