Just got word from a family member of his. Link coming soon.

Edited to delete question mark.

Ha. I was going to make a thread about him and thought better of it.

Shocking. Great spot up shooter. But really, how soon until they deal Rip and name Marco the starter?

Huh? Why?

Rip trade incoming?

Our only two players that probably should be waived are front court players. Makes little sense. Only positive is that it'll help our dire need for 3 point shooting.

Yep, has to be a precursor to a Rip trade.

By the way, Twitter doesn't have any word of Cook signing.

Just heard deal is done pending him clearing waivers. I honestly don't get it unless like others have said, Rip is gone. That's why I was skeptical when I was originally told.

Nobody on the entire internet has mentioned it as even a rumor. I don't think OP has any reason to lie but we shall wait and see.

Neither do I. I'm just saying.

Good. I really wanted him after I heard he got cut. We'll probably use the same way we used Korver. I think this means Rip is going to get traded.

Makes sense if Rip is going for a big, or just getting dumped: we'd want a second shooter behind Belli, even if he doesn't play much (given Jimmy), just in case of injury or situation. Interesting.

I never try to break any supposed "insider" deals. Just thought I'd forward what was told to me. I'll edit the title until it's confirmed.

Wow I was just going to suggest signing him after seeing he got waived, he was actually not bad in OKC and even did well in a start or 2 for Houston. Interesting that the Rockets prefer Patrick Beverley who we were also after last summer.

GarPax are reading this forum. :D It makes a lot of sense to sign a 3 pt shooter to semi-replace Korver. And, you have Belinelli replace Rip in terms of shooting/limited ball handling, Butler replace Bogans.
They are probably looking to save the money from Rip to get a more palatable backup for Noah and waive Nazr or Radmanovic.

Rip for Cole Aldrich? I'd definitely do that.

Not that I know anything, but just off the bat it strikes me that he's not good enough to make us assume any one else has been moved

It bears noting though that if a filler guy was coming in, a big would make more sense. Unless Kirk is getting extended time off. Can we do 10-day deals?

Well he's a good shooter, but really nothing more than that. 80% of his FGAs in OKC were 3pt attempts.

They cut him to sign James Anderson, I think.

What purpose does it serve then? We already have a ton of depth at the SG position

Which was moreso the case when we got Rasual Butler (like way more). Maybe they just want a look-see.

Again, just the thoughts that are in my head, nothing more.
