But srsly, watch Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, it's my favorite Guy Ritchie flick.

Rock n Rolla!

Seriously though every Guy Ritchie movie is pretty awesome, only Revolver is may be a step down but even that had Andre 3k.

Revolver was meh, agreed. Didn't have the spark most of his movies do, mainly the great dialogue.

Check out In Bruges, it's not Guy Ritchie, but it's kinda similar. Didn't get much commercial acclaim, but it's kind of a cult classic now. Also, it has Brendan Gleeson, who is hilarious.

Thanks for reminding actually, that was on my to watch list for a long time since I read a Colin Farrell article on Grantland.

I'd recommend Layercake as well, similar genre with a ridiculously hot Sienna Miller!

Yet the thread remains unlocked, strange.

About Guy Richie though, you know he is a good director when everyone has a different favorite movie of his, yet they're opinion can't really be disproved.

They're all pretty good, but it's almost a niche... Like Johnny Depp movies... All good, but after you've seen a bunch of them they're hard to tell apart.

I own Snatch and LSTSB and sometimes have a hard time remembering which part came from which movie.

Yea, Layer Cake is really good. That's the best movie I've seen Daniel Craig in. Well, maybe Munich, but I don't remember if that was him.

While true, the Johnny Depp thing has more to do with him being Tim Burton's muse (or lover, need more evidence).

He spent too much time with Kieth Richards... And Marlon Brando for that matter... His ego controls him, but his personality has become a strange amalgam of the two... So that everything he does comes off the same.

Tim Burton does seem to pick sort of over the top actors and just seems to tell them to be themselves... Helena Bohnam Carter is another one.

Which isn't to say I hate Depp movies... Love Donnie Brasco... And Don Juan DeMarco too for that matter.

Like the pirate movies too... Just not as much his role in them.

That's a pretty astute observation, gotta agree with you there.

Helena Bonham Carter is married to Burton right? That's why I think Burton and Depp might have a lil' something something goin' on...

Duh... I totally forgot Burton and Carter were married...

She's one of my favorite actresses but she tends to always play similar roles.

It's funny, Depp and Sean Penn were both sort of from the same school... Both studied and Befriended Brando, and both have sort of lost themselves somewhere along the way... And my favorite movies from the both of them are very similar... Donnie Brasco and A State of Grace... Both playing undercover cops...

At least Brando's legacy lives on, right? They could have have picked far worse mentors.

I've never seen A State of Grace. Looking at the imdb page, it looks really promising. Gary Oldman is in it, who I like, even though he normally hams it up as a typical mustache twirling villain.

So basically, whenever he doesn't work with Burton.

Totally forgot about Ninth Gate though, that movie gives me the creeps. It's damn good.

Depp supposedly really captured Hunter S Thompson in that movie, but you might want to check out Where the Buffalo Roam too... Which is similar but with Bill Murray playing that part.
