Hmm, if we sign him now, that's before 10 day contracts start, no? Can never have enough shooters, I guess, and Cook did show he could chuck off the bench at OKC.

*Puts on conspiracy hat*

Cook has the same agent as Greg Oden OMG a healthy Oden is going to replace Omer next season!!! :D :D :)

What is the exact date the 10 days contract start? If this is one of the 10 day signing then it kinda make some sort of sense but if isn't one of the 10 days this doesn't make sense unless as anyone mention trading Rip is in the horizon even though we do need some three point shooting but we need a solid big more.

Edit: Also I never impress his shooting anyways never thought he is that good of a shooter.

He barely plays but when I have seen him, he seems competent enough. An upgrade over Mohammed.

The Rockets prefer James Anderson. They waived Cook to sign Anderson.

He's had one good scoring season out of 6 tries on a stacked OKC team where all he had to was shoot. Otherwise, low efficiency chucker. Right now has the same TS% as Kirk Hinrich. Except with none of the thrust and grit.

Wouldn't be a replacement for Rip's role, rather just a body in case Jimmy or Marco got hurt.

Couldn't we have tried to sign James Anderson instead, as the Rockets wound up doing?

James Anderson has never been a rotation player in his career. Cook has.

Rip and future 2nd for Mozgov

Rose Hinrich Nate Teague
Bellineli Butler Hinrich Cook
Deng Butler Bellineli
Booz Gibson Vlad
Noah Mozgov Nazr

I still take my chance with James Anderson over Cook anyways.

If we did sign him, it's just to have a extra shooter deep on the bench.

Yeah, the reason why I might roll the dice on Anderson is that at least he has some potential upside. With Cook you probably know pretty much what you're getting, and it's not very good. Although our FO seems to prefer guys who have some experience under their belts.

I was impressed by Mozgov - more athleticism, size, and upside. Would prefer him to Cole A.

The numbers don't reveal how awesome of a backup center Mozgov could be. I wonder if Rip would be enough to satisfy the Nuggets. Just seems like the Nuggets could get a little bit more for him.

I think you'd at least have to add a 1st round pick to get him.

I would love Mozgov. He can be a long term reliable reserve behind Noah.

This one is a first to me. I haven't heard anything about Daequan Cook and the Bulls but it makes some sense. The Phoenix Suns and the Jazz I've heard got some interest on Hamilton maybe a deal might be coming around soon.

He’d make sense as a deep reserve for a team dead last in the NBA in 3 pointers made.

Cook is more of a known product vs Anderson, although he isn’t elite at what he does. He’s shot 1170 vs Anderon’s 120, and at 37% over his career. But for a waiver pickup, hard to complain. It’s not like we’re trading assets for him.

Daequan Cook scheduled to clear waivers at 5 PM ET. If he's not claimed, I'm told, Bulls firmly in lead to sign 3-point specialist
