Was just about to get on here and post he's scheduled to be on a plane here Sunday morning. Trying to get more info on the contract terms.

Rip WOULD (key word) be good for a playoff run...but do you honestly think he'd make it through three rounds of playoff basketball, i certainly don't. I don't know about Cook though, he's pretty meh IMO.

Re: Bulls Signing Daequan Cook?
I don't think it would make too much sense signing a shooter if they weren't going to give him playing time. If that's the case, I hope they don't get screwed in the Rip trade, but honestly I don't expect anything good in return. It seems to me they simply want to avoid the tax. I hope I'm wrong.

For the record, this could mean the end of Radmanovic too if the Bulls throw a little money with him to cover the expenses.

Agreed, so far I see nothing but us trying to be cheap, and getting Worse in the process.

Completely unlikely unless the Bulls get a big back...

Why? The Bulls aren't playing Radmanovic at all and in a game where they didn't have their starting C, he couldn't crack the lineup. He has played less than one minute all season in a non-blowout fashion.
The point is that you can add Cook and eliminate Radmanovic and it would be cost neutral to the tax. The Bulls would only owe the money left to Radmanovic, which would be sub 500K at this point.

Good call JVaughn.
I don't suspect he'll play a lot, but at least he'll bring some 3 point shooting

This guarantees Rip's being salary dumped to dodge the tax. It also makes it harder.

Thanks Sham - could you explain to us mere mortal NBA fans why it guarantees Rip being salary dumped, and would this mean Rip or is it possibly somebody else?

I think ur right. Source told me Cook chose us because he was basically promised consistent PT here. Not possible unless someone's on their way out.
