Re: is NBA planning on implementing 5v5v5 basket ball?
I'd be interested in seeing a game played like this. Not sure about every game.
It would kind of be like the game "21" except with 3 teams, every team for itself, instead of 3 individual players, every man for himself.
It would be a good All-Star weekend type event.

SMH at the people comparing this to the outdoor basketball thread. That's actually a half-decent idea, even if only for a single game/season, a la the Winter Classic.

First thing I thought of was slamball, not sure why. Add some trampolines and you have yourselves a mind boggling concept.

I think you guys are looking at this the wrong way. Notice there are no baskets at the end of the 3 half courts. What if there is only one basket in the middle with no backboard?

Some of these designs remind me of mandalas and sacred geometry. Also, I'm in touch with someone very close to the situation and he tells me these are indeed the plans for the future of the NBA. Yes, jetpacks will also be implemented.

Re: is NBA planning on implementing 5v5v5 basket ball?
It's interesting to actually contemplate how the game might work, if such a court existed.
I could see three teams playing at one time, something like Lakers, Celtics and Heat. It would be something like a cross between basketball and Survivor. Douche bag teams wouldn't get very far in this league.
You win the game not by scoring the most points, but by being the team who has given up the fewest baskets at their court.
You play with three players per team. One player has to stay back on his or her's court, sort of like a hockey goalie.
Since you win, not by scoring but by being scored on the least, two inferior teams can work together to beat up on a superior team. For example, Lakers and Celtics can effectively be "one" four man team (each has a man back playing on defense) attacking the Heat who would assumedly have three players back. Since you don't win anything coming in second place, at some point, the two teams, once they feel they have a nice lead on the Heat, can go at each other. At this point the Heat will work with either trying to run up either team's score. So essentially you would have a series of 4 on 3s and 4 on 2s back and forth until time elapsed.
I could see there being no stoppage of plays, ie, timeouts. Instead, you have to "tap out" as a player by grabbing the pole beneath your basket. Since the weakest team of the three would tend to be "overlooked", it might actually win a lot more than in real basketball. Also, those "cross-court" passes that actually would sail over the out of bounds areas would be kinda cool.
It would be interesting to put such a court on asphalt somewhere just to see how that game would actually look. Lol, maybe not.

Before the first game of this new era, I heard that A.C. Green will be sacrificed in the middle of the court to appease the basketball gods.

Someone hacked Adam Silver's phone and found these blueprints.
There were other pictures too but they aren't SFW.

Underrated aspect of this: Teams could ally and potentially quintuple-team a player on the third team while keeping a man on the other guys

You're welcome.
That's interesting. Altough i'd stick with 2 teams, each team will be granted 1 basket as "home" on opposite sides, and could score in any other. A basket on the oponent's ome will be awarded wit 5 points (6 if beyond the arc).
Teams should increase to 10 or 12 players on the field.
If you want to try to measure the elements of basketball that are supposedly unmeasurable, spend a game just watching Marc Gasol.
