Why we don't try to get Gay in a swap for Gasol? i really think we need bench.. but.. if we can get gay... i think will be dangerous.

Was about to post this, only I have a different idea based on rumors.

Reports came out today that Memphis is exploring trade possibilities for Rudy Gay,they don't want to be over the cap next year.

Minnesota is still hot for Gasol according to sources their coach Adelman views Gasol as a perfect fit next to Love he loves Gasol passing ability.

Why not make it a 3way trade every team gets what they want.

LA trade: Gasol/Ebanks
Memphis trade: Gay
Minnesota trade: Kirlenko/Dwill/Barea

LA gets: Gay
Memphis gets: Kirlenko/Dwill
Minnesota gets: Gasol/Ebanks

pg:Nash/Duhon/Blake
sg:Kobe/Meeks/Morris
sf:Gay/Metta
pf:Hill/Jamison
c:Dwight/Sacre

We go from a old team to a athletic team with Dwight/Gay/Hill in the starting lineup, imagine Nash throwing a alley-oop to Gay on the fastbreak.

Too good to be true. Maybe in 2K13.

I like Gay a lot, but if the Lakers are going to move Pau I would want it to be for someone that can at least spend most of the time at the 4 position.

Not sure why there would be a Gay for Pau trade if memphis is trying to save money. It also wouldn't make sense for their roster. The 3 team trade seems more plausible but still too good to be true.

Forget it. We won't get Gay (or any player with his caliber) for Gasol. MIN won't even do that trade.

If Minnesota wants to move AK for Pau, I'd do that deal directly and may be even take on Ridnour or Barea. Kirilenko is a much better shooter, and off the ball player than Rudy Gay.

Between Gay and Kirilenko, I pick Gay every single time. He's younger, he's faster, and has expansive scope for growth. Gay's actually really good at defending Durant. He'd be a great piece moving forward.

The problem here is. . . Getting a deal done will take a miracle.

When we get wind it already happened :-(

Maybe not Rudy Gay but how about a few pieces like Speights, Bayless, Wroten? Youth, athleticism, D. We'd have to include a 3rd team to make salaries work but that's what I'd work around.

I would love that trade. It will not happen. But it is better than a lot of other ones that have come up.

I would say "no shot", but you guys are the Lakers, so it wouldn't surprise me at all if this trade actually happens.

Pau's minutes at C are still quality minutes. I can definitely see Kirilenko for Gay working on Memphis' end, Minnesota would consider it a FA for the guy they have wanted for years, and L.A. gets a guy that slides MWP to his best position these days.

L.A. would become even more difficult to stop.

That's cute and all but it seems like all these so called trades are predicated to offense.....offense isn't our problem. The problem is strictly defense, and Gay isn't the most stout defender in terms of locking up one on one. We have to get better at team defense and making reads.

Cute? Really?

It's far better defensively. Gay is just fine on defense and MWP at the 4 is a very effective defender as evidenced by L.A.'s huge run in the 4th against LAC.
