It's a ruse
It's understandable the frustration knowing that the right lineups aren't happening...
Unless Frank was born on planet Nocluetron he completely understands that Drummond is a starter and likely Stuckey also.
JMax and the players we see contributing on the bench have had little value on the trade market until recently... Is them playing decent minutes an accident?... doubtful.
If you're a team in need of cleaning house do you just wait for the deadbeats to expire or do you try to build them up and get value in return?... what we didn't expect was that most of them would respond this well and make us second guess wanting to dump them.
IMO this season has been well played... looking forward to February... would not be surprised to see a major deal happen.

"and likely stuckey"? How long has stuckey been a starter for the pistons and how successful have the pistons been with him as a starter.

I don't believe I'm typing this but I don't want CV, Daye and Bynum to be traded unless we get a really and I mean really good value back.
On the other hand, I wouldn't mind seeing Stuckey and Jonas, once my 2 favorite players on the team gone for a bag of peanuts.

Re: It's a ruse
I really don't understand how trading stuckey is such a apparent need.
Running him at 6th man has been great so far ans he provides great reinforcement at PG when knight is off his game. Right now Stuckey is our best PG.
I can see us being successful with Stuckey playing a prominent role off the bench.
As far as daye goes, there were rumors on the WT about the team wanting to move him right about the time he started getting minutes. Maybe that's the coincidence or maybe they are "showcasing" him. It seems weird though.
He has done wonders for his trade value of late though. He was at a -50 before, now he's at equal value.

Re: It's a ruse
yes, drummond is absolutely amazing and will be a future all star, maybe even MVP, but the way i look at it is, if drummond plays starting C minutes, whos going to play C with the second unit? i definitely dont want maxiell doing so, and kravtsov is very unlikely to be a worthy contributer, the way it is now is the only way to have our best 9 or 10 guys playing in their proper positions. we need to have drummond or monroe on the floor the whole game to play at center, so that makes it very difficult for there to be enough time to play substantial minutes together as well.
the way the bench has played the last few games, and that its leading to wins (5 of the last 6 i think now??) i dont think we really need to worry too much. drummonds minutes can probably go up to 30 ish, rather than the low 20's which would allow him to pair with monroe a little more, but nows not the time to panic.

I agree with this as far as CV/Daye are concerned. I would rather keep Stuckey as backup on the bench and trade Bynum. Jonas cant shoot so he has no business on this team, hes not a stretch forward, hes a good hustle player/cleanup guy but he hasn't been playing that way. I dont think he fits anymore, we are better with knock down shooters on the court so I dont see how Jonas makes it back into the rotation.
Ideally, i want the team built like this
PG: Pass First Guy who can Shoot/Penetrating PG
SG: Deadly from 3/Defensive Specialist who can hit the 3
SF: Deadly from 3/ Utility SF
PF: Monroe/ Stretch 4
C: Drummond/ Defensive C
Right now, CV is filling the role as Stretch 4 perfectly and Daye is filling the role as SF that is deadly from 3 well. Prince is the utility SF, who in a couple years will be best served coming off the bench. Right now, though we work fine. We just need better guard play.

Re: It's a ruse
Completely logical explanations for not starting Drummond:
1) Frank is in the Tank based upon ownership directives
2) They want to keep Drummond motivated- Realistically his biggest knock was tendancy to drift and appear disinterested at UCONN. If he's motivated by not starting and it leads to him overcoming the disinterested periods than Frank is much smarter than all of those continually bashing him.

Will Bynum is better at pick and roll which is the oldest, most basic play in the game of basketball. But its so deadly even still. He's worse at everything else than both Knight and Stuck. If Knight knew how to be patient and use screens better, he'd be at worse a Terrell Brandon. I can't for the life of me figure out why he doesn't seem to work on that simple nuance with Will in practice of just setting his man up better for the screen. With his shot he'd be even more deadly coming off than Will, but he rushes it and runs himself into a double team, causing him to pickup his dribble.

Re: It's a ruse
Will is a better PG right now. Better vision, better lob passing, better entry passing and better at using the pick and roll. I'm confident Knight will work on some of this stuff, like he worked on his handle and gained muscle over the summer.

Re: It's a ruse
Bynum is a terrible point guard.
He's just a ballhog who only makes passes that he thinks will get him assists. Which is why he loves the pick and roll so much. His ballhog style looks amazing when his shot is on, and absolutely dreadful when it isn't. I think Knight sucks, but atleast he's willing to actually pass the damn ball around.

If Knight reaches Terrell Brandon status he could be one of the best pgs in the league. I agree with the need for Knight to learn patience. That's a virtue we fans would also do well to learn as we watch BK7 go through the learning process.
He's further along than he was last year and he's getting better and a slowly measured incremental pace. His handles are better than last year. His decision making and abilityt to read the defense has to improve. His jumper is nice. His drives and midrange game have to improve.
His defense is better than I thought, it just isn't consistent. He seems to get up for certain players like Brandon Jennings (Jennings talks a ton of crap) and Kyrie Irving (they have history like Moose and Cousins). He's got to go at everybody with the same fervour he had with Damon Lillard.

Strange to say, but I'm really enjoying watching Will, CV and Daye right now. But they did earn those DNP's with crap play to start the season. It's to their credit (or their chechbooks benefit) that they've all three apparently worked hard to get in shape and work on their games. They're playing well and I'll almost be sad to see them go when their traded.

Yeah Daye kind of came out of no where. The good thing about Daye getting a contract is he can't really get fat if he wanted to
