Worth trading for Varejao?

Post#1 » by The Houston » Sat Jan 5, 2013 3:49 pm

He's hurt at the moment. Reports say that he will be playing as soon as Wednesday. Seeing as I need more big men he would fit the bill. The owner would likely be more inclined to trade him. So this would be the perfect time to trade for him. If so, which pieces should I trade to acquire Varejao?

I'm not sure. He never really believed in him coming back. Since it was a "Knee Injury" so probably not.

I like Gordon but I don't trust him. I would offer Gordon if you are comfortable with that and see what happens

You don't think I should package him to make it more enticing?

As a counter offer yes. I dont know the GM is question so I can't call it.

But I wouldn't start with my best offer. We are talking about a injured player here with history of injuries

Varejao is a big risk and has been out for a while. Start with Gordon.

The perfect time to trade for him was a week ago. You never wait until news drops that a dude is coming back. What, you think the dude who owns him hasn't seen it?

It's worth exploring options for him. He was putting borderline first round numbers when he played. A lot of haters on Varejao 'round these parts, but that's because most people overrate injury risk. Shrewd owners jump on it because uncertainty = potential value.

Thanks for making me look like a dum-dum Varejao, but process > results so I'd still say the same thing.
