Our defense was an embarrassment, and we were down by 14 at one point. We didn't take a lead until WAYYY late, like, last possession of regulation late IIRC.

It seems that PJ is more focused on our offense. But I don't see any defensive mismatch with the Wiz that would turn our D sucky.

I just watched the highlights and it seems that Beal had a career game, not to mention Nene beastin'...

Didn't play any D, The Wizards defense looked like the Bulls, Bradley Beal shot it like Derrick Rose, Jordan Crawford looked like Jamal Crawford, Nene looked like Chris Bosh, etc.

We're just fortunate that we were able to pull off the win in spite of the uninspired effort. We better make the adjustments on D and take advantage of the favorale schedule ahead.

On the other hand, it's great to see Brook having a double-double performance...

I left my house to pick up my friend when we were down I think it was like 7 or 8 in OT and I was pissed off. I put the game on in the car and as they kept cutting it closer, I was speeding to get to his house to run in and watch it on tv. Got there right when Lopez hit the two free throws. I called Beal hitting the game tying shot as well.

cant believe the bickering over a WIN. we WON!

anytime you can win a get where you are struggling on both ends, trail for 3.5 quarters, and win in double overtime thats a good win. you arent always going to have your best game, to be able to grind out wins on the ROAD in games where you come out flat, that shows toughness. something we have lacked earlier this season.

when we play awful defense it has nothing to do with mismatches. one on one defense we really hold our own. its team defense where we struggle. as seen with the spurs backups getting layups at will if you move the ball and make us communicate on defense and switch you are going to get easy shots.

This scenario happening against OKC/MIA/SAS type of team would be a good win.

This scenario happening against a team that is 4-27 does not constitute a good win.

Yes, all wins are good in the sense that they add to the win column, the games where you should win decisively and you don't do it aren't the type of wins you should be proud of.

Heck, part of the reason Avery was fired was because Proky and management didn't feel like we played well enough/up to our standards in the wins that we had (not just the losses).

if avery was coaching we would lose this game by 20 points.

this same 4 -27 wizards team beat the Miami Heat. why? because the heat had an off night played horribly and couldnt make the plays we did down the stretch to win.

there are going to be 5-10 games a year you play against horrible teams where you play down to their level. being able to pull those out is the sign of a good team

Yeah, that is true, but at the same time we've already played down to most of our competition this season.

Should we chalk it up to the team jelling? Sure, we can do that.

But even if we do that, that doesn't mean that we don't have the right to criticize barely winning against a team that is 4-26.

You think the Heat were just like "We lost to the Wizards but it's no big deal. It just one more for our "playing below our standards against crap team for the season" quota.

No...they didn't take it as with a "it happens" type of attitude. They were embarrassed. They learned from it, saw what they did wrong, and fixed themselves.

Here's LBJ comments after that game:

"'Nah, man, there's not no lesson. This ain't a lesson for us. We just lost,'' James explained. ''We've seen and been through everything, so we don't need a loss to be like, `Oh, let's catch ourselves.' It happens.''

Wade:
''You move on,'' said Dwyane Wade, who scored 24 for Miami. ''You learn from it, but you don't become a good team by holding onto certain losses - or certain wins.'

Teams criticize themselves in both wins and losses cuz they always want to get better. It's the same reason why fans bring up negative comments even in blowout wins. We want our team to get better.

Of course, we're going to complain...it comes with the nature of trying to be a good team.

Watched this game the day after, luckily I taped this week in football...

I think this win did more than chalk a W up in the win column...I was chewing out Bogans all game and it was talked about how he still in the process of making his way back from surgery...his defense is average most of the time and he flat out loses his man during any off the ball movement...just running his guy off screens causes problems not to mention he sometimes fails in closing air space near the 3 point line consistently...

Then you have his shooting which is hit or miss, very streaky....

And then he saves us in the 1st OT, both with his D and his shot...its amazing how he payed off in the 1st OT where I all but basically shut the TV off...coming back from what 8-0 with a little over a minute crazy...

This game really helps a team with their mentality in close games...we've done it before, but hopefully we will continue to fight because its all about how much fight you have in you no matter how much time is on the clock...PJ is really communicating well and our players are still executing when it looks like everything else has failed...

Blatche played as well as you could expect in that situation and we definitely had more guys contribute to this win than maybe any other game...you take out one Net performance and we lose this game...It's one of those glue wins where we stuck together and out willed the Wizards (which isn't saying much), but still proved to ourselves we could get the job done no matter how long it took...
