Where Would They Best Fit?

Post#1 » by BigSlam » Sun Jan 6, 2013 1:55 am

Take the following current Bobcat players and put them on a team that you think would maximize their potential/playing style and on a team that would most benefit from their addition.

Not trade them, just up and put them on the roster (so roster number limitations and salaries do not apply and it is not about what we would get back):

Also post why you think what you think and the role the (hypothetical) Ex-Bobcat would play on his new team.

Biz
BG
Haywood
Hendo
Gilly
Mully
T2
Kemba

Biz - Spurs. Get tips from one of the greatest post scorers and players. Gives them a defensive big and youth for the future.

Hendo - Clippers. Now that he seems to have found his 3 point shot, I think he would be perfect to start here. Play good defense, hit the open 3's and shots off the curl. He won't need to be overly creative.

Haywood - Miami. They need a real center, his solid play and cheap contract would be a good fit.

BG - Phillie, replace Young as the chucker off the bench. A little smarter and they have ball carriers in Jrue and Turner who can guard 2 guards.

Gilly - Lakers, they want some youth and athleticism on that team. I would start MKG at sf and let him be the glue man. He could also finish some passes from Nash.

Mully - I dunno, his best situation is probably here as we let him play. Otherwise maybe Spurs? Once again, learn from the best,

T2 - Miami? Come off the bench and be an energy big, try to block every shot. His offence is limited to put backs and WIDE open jumpers. Do anything else and he has to shower with Lebron.

Kemba - NYK Replace Felt's with Kemba and let him get some more national love. Felton always had trouble defending the quicker guards, Kemba has no such weakness, his assists would also go up being able to pass it to players who can finish.

Biz- Fort Wayne Mad Ants: need to find confidence in his offensive game somehow, somewhere.

Mully- Bobcats: because we are the only team that would allow him to maximize what he does best and that's put up shots; anywhere else he would rot on the bench with DNP-CD's every game.

Everybody else- any contending playoff team.

Good one. If Kemba played for the Knicks right now he would be on Kyrie's level of hype as far as up and coming players go.

I'm just gonna do all of them:

Biz - Sacramento. I think DMC and Bismack is the ideal frontcourt pair if the two pan out. Everything one guy is bad at, the other is great at. They fit too well, which is why I was ecstatic when the DMC to Charlotte rumor came out.

Mullens - any team with a dominant post player (LA, San Antonio). Essentially to play the Ryan Anderson role. He can take 18-footer all day long like he did last season. His mid-range shot was legit. Once he started taking 3s like J-Rich used to do, then it became an issue.

MKG - Clippers. Can you imagine a trio of Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, and MKG? That would be one of the most balanced trios ever. For real.

Hendo - anywhere really. I think he has a pretty adaptable game. I think LAC or Cleveland (minus Dion "Bust" Waiters) could use him as well. What do they have in common? A legit star PG.

Kemba - Brooklyn. Deron Williams has been utter garbage this year. I honestly think Kemba would outperform him in his role right now. Jerry Sloan made him what he was.

Ramon - honestly, a team like us, that plays him near-starter minutes and gets a good 15ppg out of him. Miami would love to have him as well.

Gordon - Chicago. once Rose gets back, Gordon would be legit by his side. Rose drives to the rim, Gordon just chills in the corner, and nails three after three. It's too perfect.

JT - Golden State. they could use some of his D on the bench for sure.

Reggie - Miami. Can't get enough James Joneses.

TT - Miami? Sacramento? Phoenix? Toronto? Clips? Pretty much anywhere but here. We are literally probably his worst-case scenario and we can't even move him.

Adrien - Haven't watched him enough, but he sounds like he could play the Reggie Evans role minus the flopping next to a rebounding deficient big. So, Brooklyn? Toronto?

Hakim the Drim Warrick - someone like us who desperately needs any PF possible due to injuries.

Haywood - Boston - they desperately need a real center. It's been evident forever yet they've done nothing about it. Do they really think Collins, Darko, Fab Melo, and an 85-year-old Jermaine O'Neal were supposed to be the solution the last couple years?

Diop - OKC needs his ability to finish, drive, score in the post, pass, rebound, and block shots. He might be their starting center... *turns off 2k13 Create a Legend mode*

Biz - Warriors in the Festus role

BG - Lakers/Portland/anyone in need of bench play

Henderson - Minnesota. They need a capable SG with Roy and Budinger out. Allows Shved to lead the second unit

Haywood - Agree with Sachmo

MKG - Would fit just about anywhere. Value would probably be maximised with a team that plays at a fast tempo but dont need him to shoot. Houston maybe

Mullens - Denver as he can provide some spacing

TT - New York, play him in spurts off the bench. Couldnt be worse than Amare or Camby

Kemba - Indiana

You did such an amazing job with your opinion on all the other players that I literally read this entire Diop entry seriously until the end!!

Nice work.

Biz - he's a project, he isn't gonna contribute to many teams so I'm skipping him

BG - Lakers could use his shooting and offense off the bench

Haywood - any team, really, but the Hawks could use him. They could roll with a smith, horford, haywood lineup and have the best frontcourt in the east

Hendo - Bulls, to do what Rip was supposed to do (defend the best wing, shoot and have plays run for him when rose is cold)

Gilly - Knicks. could play either wing position depending on whether they decide to start amar'e or bring him off the bench

Mully - Lakers could actually use him next to Dwight, but he really isn't good enough to be on a championship's team starting lineup.

T2 - Sacremento could really use another exhibit in their sideshow attraction. dunno why they're in the NBA

Kemba - Jazz need a PG, Indiana could use him because Augustin is stinking it up there

biz - portland - they could really use another big man, especially one who can block some shots. i think he would be a solid 3rd big behind LMA and hickson.

bg - pacers - seems they could use some instant offense from the bench. their team defense is good enough to make up him.

haywood - here. i cant think of too many better fits. he wouldnt get minutes anywhere else unless major injury. cats needs his experience.

hendo - chicago - they have been looking for a solid defensive sg for a long time.

mkg - golden state - they have so many shooters to spread the floor for him. he is an upgrade to barnes. mkg could just rebound, defend and attack the rim while curry, klay and lee hit tons of open shots.

kemba - lakers - what a perfect sparkplug for that bench. nash wouldnt have to play 40 minutes. lakers struggle with quick guards and have nobody off the bench that can ignite that offense.

mully - boston - if garnett cant teach mully anything about defense, im not sure who can.
