They played the game like they were content with the road trip already. You could tell early on when all of the Nets players were just getting to wherever they wanted with the ball in their hands. The Nets certainly shot the lights out in the 1st half, but our one on one And team D was pretty awful.

DeMarcus wathces on defense too much, especially after he hedges on the pick and roll.

You can't do that, it ruins up the entire rotation - he doesn't even get back to his man (or the open man) at times, and he had a few today when he didn't even go for the rebound - just stood there and watched the play like he's on the bench.

Smart need to show him himself playing the PNR defensively on tape and tell him showing on the ball handler doesn't mean his job is done, and he needs to hustle his behind to rotate either to his man or the man of the guy who rotated for him to help.

That's the only problem I'm having with DeMarcus's, so that's a positive I guess :D But it irritate me so much watching it.

That was one of the main things I picked up on with him in particular today, but it wasn't just him on the PNR, it was all of our bigs.
I was feeling sorry for IT in the 1st quarter going up against Deron with so little help from the bigs in those PNR situation.

The worst aspect of this team is defensive rebounding; too many second chance points plus they deflect a lot of passes without gaining possession and a lot of times it due to them being in a hurry to run down the court. Guys make sure you secure the ball first; then, get out on the break.

Really wanted them to win this game; it's funny I thought they would have more energy due to the fact the Nets had a hard fought double OT game with the Wizards. Not!!!! But a 2-2 road trip; can't really be mad about that; it's baby steps but it is a step in the right direction although they could've and probably should've been 3-1.

Well it was 4 games in 5 nights for us, lack of energy is understandable - but I also thought we won't cave to a blowout and revert to our old habits so easily like we did.

I also don't understand how we suck so hard in defensive rebounding, or moreso how this isn't corrected by the coaching staff. It's not like we don't have the personal to be a dominate rebounding team.

Just wanted to point out how Cousins has been affecting Jason Thompson. Since Cousins came back from his suspension and has gone on this impressive tear Thompson has been averaging 15pts per game. Cousins additional passing has really opened up the game for Thompson. I really hope we get to see that continue.

Agreed, Jason has been really great and you can see how DeMarcus enhances his game when he wants - and not only his, but Salmons, Garcia and pretty much everyone in our team. It's beautiful to watch.

And that's when Jason is having a bit of trouble converting his dump passes - he should be finishing them at a higher clip and reward DeMarcus with some more assist.

Btw, you guys noticed how Aaron Brooks got a bit selfish with the ball yesterday - and at one point DeMarcus was like "share the damn ball" and got in his face mad about it?

I loved to see that. Brooks right after led the break and instead of taking it himself passed it and we got an easier shot.

Yeah, I hate that he goes to isolation for Brooks at the end of qtrs. and in the 4th. I would rather see IT & Garcia or Fredette or Reke & Thornton when they return. I trust Reke & IT in isolation in those situations more but more importantly we should either pick-n-roll with Cousins or go down in the block to Cousins.

Brooks should not be in the game late in the 4th period, when is Smart going to realize this.

^^Personally I'm sick of our undersized point guards. If I have to see Thomas or brooks jump to make a pass one more time it will drive me insane. I want both of them gone.
