Remember when everybody on the General Discussion board said we should trade BG for D12 and we'd immediately be the best team in the league. That D12 was better than BG in every way. That Clippers were dumb if they even rejected that offer?

I was against it then and I would totally be against it now.

I've seen a few Clipper fans (at various places) make arguments for doing the trade and called those that opposed homers. Dwight at peak tip-top shape is the better player because he can anchor a defense. I'm not unreasonable, I saw the benefit. However, the reason we are even in the situation that we are in right now is because we drafted BG and he helped change the culture internally (although CP3 has taken it to an even further level).

I liked Dwight, but his antics in the past couple of years have rubbed me the wrong way and that would make it harder to root for him. I'm happy with the squad, vibe and chemistry that we have right now. There's room for improvement, but we're still very much capable of doing some big things.

I never wanted to trade Blake for Dwight. Dwight is the better defender but Blake is much more mature. Honestly I never liked the idea and thought that Blake would be the more complete player.

Last season, I was hoping that we could build something around a DJ/EB/picks package for Dwight. The Magic and their fans definitely wouldn't have wanted that initially, but the improvements made by both this season shows that it wouldn't have been a bad a return for them.

If I was going to make a blockbuster trade I wouldn't look to team Blake and Dwight, they are too similar.

Last year I said yes to a hypothetical swap of the 2, but mainly because it would never happen. Dwight is too much a force on defense to say no IMO.

But right now I would obviously say no. Dwight is still stiff and balky from the back surgery, and although I expect him to recover it's still a risk. A bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush. The bird in this case being 17 win streak.
