Re: The Trade Thread
Hes talking about the Cavs.
Charlotte should look at "absorb an extra year on a contract, get a draft pick" trades.
However, if the deadline passes and Warrick and Diop are still Bobcats they need to be bought out. So the Bobcats can bring in some D-leaguers and hope for the best.

I think the Cavs are holding onto Varejao until the last minute of the February deadline to lure a team into giving them picks and young assets at their desperate moment. I have a feeling that it might be the Thunder. If so I hope we can get in on the multi-team trade to try to acquire Jeremy Lamb.
2 out of the 3 between Hendo, Gordon, and Sessions won't be here by 2014. Why not try to fill the long-term gap at SG with a guy like Lamb that we would've been happy to draft if we had another lottery pick this year? I'm not that big on PJ3. He would look like Jeff Green 2.0 in the mix with superstars like Durant and Westbrook but he'd look something like Chris Singleton on the Wizards look if he played for us. PJ3 will never reach that ceiling that his height and athleticism predict him to reach. I thought we were all about BPA and Lamb was higher on the board than PJ3. But don't get me wrong, I would happily take PJ3 in a trade as well. I'd just prefer Lamb and to draft our PF/C in the upcoming draft.

I have been told by those super informed geniuses on the Bulls board that Oklahoma considers Lamb to be their future at the two. Supposedly Martin will be given a nice parting gift when the season is over.

I would obviously prefer Lamb, but we'd have to give up a lot more to get him than PJ3. We could probably get PJ3 with the Portland pick.

I wouldn't give the portland pick for PJ3. The pick is a higher draft slot than he's worth

PJ3 was lottery talent who fell due to a knee injury. Nobody we get outside the top 14 in a weak draft like 2013's is worth PJ3. His value isn't very high right now, simply because OKC isn't playing him. I think they're making a huge mistake personally. I think their future starting five should be Ibaka/PJ3/Durant/Lamb/Westbrook in a couple years. No question that's a future championship team.

Re: The Trade Thread
Face it, there is no starting 4 or 5 that we can get in a trade without dealing a significant player (Kemba or MKG) plus a primo pick(s). We would not be in this predicament had the Cats simply grabbed JJ Hickson when he was put on waivers last year. I remember BEGGING them to get that guy. But no, it was more important to hold onto Higgy Jr, versus claiming him as Portland did, watching him play well, then signing him to a new deal (for NO INVESTMENT OR COST OTHER THAN HIS SALARY). Hickson is averaging 12.5PPG and 11RPG.
I do not want PJ3. I'd like to find a way to get Jason Thompson, but I suspect that's not a real option. I doubt Cho would make a deal for a reach player of any kind (wise), so either we become the lucky benefactors of some team's stupid offer or we will wait.
Hopefully Tyrus brings us enough to become more productive at the 4, and we can only hope Biz finds his niche via rebounding & shot blocking. Both guys are undersized relative to many in the league at their respective positions.

I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

hmm... you're right. maybe the new CBA has made trading less attractive
Carroll for Warrick???
Didn't happen.

I would give up the Portland pick for Sullinger, Call me crazy.
He is going to be a stud, he may be a 16/9 low post beat imo.
Biz as 6'10 is the perfect foil for him imo as undersized as they may be.

I dunno how the other teams would feel about it but I wouldn't mind those trades. Though Phoenix is currently in play for Rudy Gay and probably can't afford ot lose Dudley because the Grizzlies would want him.

Don't like Kendall Marshall. Dudley is to old to be part of our core. If we are going to trade Hendo and Sessions I would want more than this.

Kendall Marshall is a poor mans Jeff Mcinnis right now.

Re: The Trade Thread
Charlotte trades Diop and Portland's 2013 1st round pick (top 12 prot.) for Robin Lopez and Hayes
New Orleans trades R. Lopez, Henry, and Mason for Jason Thompson, James Johnson, and Outlaw
Sacramento/Seattle trades Jason Thompson, Hayes, Outlaw, and James Johnson for Diop, Henry, Mason, and POR 1st
Would you do that deal? Lopez has been balling this year and is showing flashes of being the player the Suns expected him to be when they drafted him. He'd be our best big by default.

Re: The Trade Thread
I don't think Lopez will get much better than he is now but I could be wrong. Hayes is getting up there. I think I'd rather keep that pick and see how it turns out or wait for trade deadline to throw the Diop chip around.
