Net Player Brought in for Questioning on Sexual Assault

Makes you wonder how many players do party on game nights but we don't find out about it.

Many. Many indeed. Not every night, but on average I'd say 1-2 guys every 1-2 games.

Yeah there are so many boneheads out there in sports... I was talking to a college scout a couple of years ago. He was telling about how Derrick Rose never went to class.

I also have a friend that goes to University of Alabama. He was telling how much they worship football and he tells me how every single player has someone that does their homework for them.

I'm upset he's out at 5AM. I don't think players are robots, but he's on the road night before the game in a season he's trying to clean his image up, prove his past is behind him and the actual team at this point is just starting to turn the corner from an awful stretch of ball.

It's completely selfish, immature, irresponsible, unintelligent and unprofessional and if you think otherwise, you're probably immature yourself, no offense meant, but it's that simple.

I agree but we can't make that assumption because he could have been out late at night in plenty other cities as well without any incidents letting us know.

But that in itself is a problem. It is the problem. That is not fine. That is exactly the point.

The three main things:

1. He has a bad track record, therefore he's judged accordingly, fair or unfair.

2. It's not bad if he's going out some nights, but he's a professional athlete getting paid like a fat rat and again with a bad track record. Show some composure. Get in by 1. Forget get in by one, don't let scumfuks rape women around you. This shouldn't just be written off and taken lightly. Don't put yourself in the position for this to happen. Nothing good happens after 1AM unless you're with your girl by yourselves or you're having a lame night throwing back a couple brews at home playing videogames or whatever. Even if this chick is lying, he put himself in this predicament simply through his actions. He's a grown ass man, that young immature schtick don't fly for something this direly serious.

3. The company he keeps. Lose them.

This is where Billy steps in and makes sure, if something got lost in the mix (Avery fired), he lays down the law (again) and assigns someone to Blatche, Stack or whoever...if he is not going to sleep on game nights like everyone else is, someone needs to make a phone call to Billy or PJ or whoever...

Whether you like it or not, Blatche is important to this team and I'm not sure you could duplicate his production by bringing another player in to take his place...with that said, if going forward he continues to be a distraction or not adhere to team rules, he needs to be benched...

Nets need to restrict and check into player's entourage...you want friends around, fine...but if we're talking bad news, their actual proximity to any Nets players needs to be restricted some how some way...

Obviously you are going to the source w/ Blatche calling him out and whether it was him directly bringing friends or indirectly he needs to handle this accordingly and protect himself, his teammates and the Nets organization from this sort of potential altercation...

Billy needs to hire security if not already assigned to the team and have the team monitor in away/hotel situations...

Excusing Blatche for this because "he wasnt involved in the assualt" is flat out insane. Can't believe some of the responses in here. VC4P hit it on the head. It really is more about the situation he is putting himself into. on the road before a game and you are out until 5 am? why exactly are you doing this when you are trying to move on from issues in the past?

I dont really care if they guy goes out, he doesnt need to be at home in bed tucked in by 9 pm... but 5 am? is there really any good that is going to come out of this? Its not even about not getting the rest, its about hanging out with shady charecters at a time of day where usually bad **** goes down.

First of all, if the woman is telling the truth and she was sexually assaulted, my thoughts go out to her, and whoever was involved in any way, including possibly Blatche, should be arrested and sent to jail, and then hopefully gang-raped and shivved. That's just disgusting.

Now, they say he's a potential witness, and not a suspect, but walk me through this: you're hanging out with your boys, end up taking some girls back to your suite. Blatche has naked photos of the girl on his phone, the incident allegedly happened in his suite, the dudes that did it are friends of his, roofies were found in the room, and Blatche was one of the people that was talking to this girl and her friends earlier that night.

And you're telling me he had no idea what his friends were doing to that girl? It's really hard for me not to call BS on that. I mean, even his tweet, about how he's ok and that he was just there when it happened...ok, well WTF were you doing while your friends were violating this girl?

I think that whole aspect of it is what bothers me more than the fact that he's obviously keeping horrible company, or that he's out partying on a game night until 5 AM when he's supposed to be repairing his career and his image. I think there's a legitimate chance that he was involved in some way. Even if he knew what was happening, or if he knew that his friends had roofies with them, and he didn't do anything, I'm pretty sure he can end up being charged as an accessory.

Until he is charged this is all speculation...but obviously this puts himself in an unfavorable position and if the Nets feel he broke team rules they should handle it accordingly...

The worst part is the so called photos of the girl on his phone, what materializes from there will be a key point beyond if this room is under Blatche's name...If he was already questioned and released, he appears to be clear of breaking any law...if it does go to court he could quite well be subpoena to testify of any knowledge of either the event or who he knew personally and what they were doing in the room, etc...

She's a stripper from what I can tell, they met at a gentleman's club. The way everyone has been portrayed (I could be wrong), it was more of an unconsciously drunk rape, not a scream for help situation which is why the Police said she wouldn't make a good witness. It's possible Blatche thought it was consensual which is how witnesses are there but did not know.

The whole date rape drug could have been hidden in his friends pocket. So, It's a very very tricky case and situation. Only way to know is by questioning her and doing DNA tests on everything that was touched.

I have never heard a rape victim come out to answer if a player was involved specifically without DNA tests and proper steps taken as it's done with normal folk.

Then, the news in Philly is exaggerating the situation and had the nerve to even throw Deron in the mix. Absolutely. disgusting in all accounts.

I know a few girls I have talked too who were rape victims and I feel so so sorry for her and I hope she can get some mental healing and spiritual healing her life but your 21 years old. Why the hell are you at gentleman's clubs with guys at 26 and 27 years of age? Nothing good comes from it especially drunk.

You could tell right off the bat this potentially had the making to be a media circus...and throw in how the authorities have added to that potential...

It's sad how some girls end up at certain places, but it really isn't all that unusual why or how they end up there...at the same time there are a lot of women out there who would love a shot at some money, and its' great to see this was not the case, despite it being very unfortunate regardless of who it is or how it happened...
