Its a money making league and I think a couple years without basketball will get a town that loves basketball riled up. Guys like Webber who are still active in the NBA world will absolutely make some noise as will Kevin Johnson. Its really the only major city that wouldn't have an NBA team AND is willing to build a new arena. Pretty much the same scenario as the Sonics without the tension between the city and the NBA. Everyone saying Kansas City will be the next place to get a team is not thinking completely logical. They weren't even a player for the Kings so what makes them think they'll get an impressive group together for the Grizzlies or Bucks?

Well then Stern and the NBA are even more ass backwards than I thought; why take a team away from a city that wants the team and is willing to build it a new arena. There is history between the Kings and Sacramento why disrupt that when you had a team last year in New Orleans that hardly any fan support and 2 teams in Milwaukee & Memphis with hardly any support. Does 2 wrongs make a right? Last I checked- NO!! This is about Stern feeling guilty and the Maloofs being the **** that they are!!!!!

I mean Seattle still has to build their arena though. As soon as there are some owners that get here without their heads in their asses, we can start construction with the play the Maloofs backed off from. And our fan base is more established than just about anyone.

I don't know about you guys, but it would never be the same for me.

When the King's move, it's essentially the complete end of me being a die-hard (well been regressing a lot lately...which is directly due to the Maloofs) NBA fan.

I just don't know how you could ever build the same type of relationship with a new franchise, considering how many of us grew up watching the King's and going to games (I started when I was 5-6). I dunno. It just wouldn't be the same.

Denied,

I agree 100%.

It is not about A team, but THIS team. We have all seen the growth then decline of this team and have cheered for our young guys as they grew into players. The transformation we have witnessed and continued to cheer for is what makes us a fan of the SACRAMENTO KINGS not just of basketball. If we get another team or not, it would not be the same, never would be.

I don't want to steal another team and call it the Kings. This is the Kings. This is not the Sonics either. The Sonics play in OKC. I don't care what they call it this is the Kings/Royals franchise. Not the Sonics franchise.

The family that owns the Sacramento Kings wants to maintain a say in how the team is run if they sell it to Chris Hansen, creating a possible snag in the sale negotiation, an NBA source told The Seattle Times.

I hate them for being stubborn bastards but dammit, it might just save this team for another season.

Par for the course actually...Get money for the team but still run the team as if they still owned it. In every scenario it's basically came down to the Maloofs getting all profits and paying nothing to run the team. This is a different spin on achieving the same thing. The arena deal is fair that we had but doesn't provide an influx of cash. Samueli's deal provided the cash, but no control. Virginia Beach turned out to be like the arena deals we went through in the beginning.

This seems like the same deal where the Maloofs are considering "selling" if they can have cash and control. It's no surprise there has been a 180 in tone. I don't like this roller coaster one bit. We have been a fanbase that deserves a franchise that is committed to being here. Why don't we go get the Raiders and just be done with it! They don't sell out in Oakland.

Like seriously, it's like a six-year-old that wants his own tank.

I just can't see any possible way, someone would allow the Maloofs to have a say in how an NBA team is run ever again.
