Curious about Lakers moves

The following players are basically waiting for a call.

Lakers have 1 free roster spot.

Why not spend it on a vet who has proven to bring defense and hustle??

Kmart can still play. Anderson can still have an impact in a game. Both guys can block and catch a pass from Nash.

Also it would be nice to have Fishers shooting alongside Nash's play-making.

I see no reason to not cut Jamison and take on both front-court players. Also see if there is a way to move Blake/Morris or Blake/Ebanks for a useful overpaid player (Garcia? Salmons?) and add Fisher

Howard//Hill/Anderson/Sacre
Kmart/Gasol/Clark
Artest/Ebanks
Kobe/Meeks/Garcia
Nash/Duhon/Fisher

this is what i have been saying. mitch's pimp hand only seems to apply to stars. signing a vet is a no risk move that could really help us. look at kidd and wallace and what they've brought to new york. put kmart on a veteran team like ours, next to dwight and we have a very solid defensive frontcourt. cut ebanks sign delonte west. these seem like no brainers to me.

I think we're saving the spot to take on more players in potential trades. After the deadline passes, and we see what we're left with, we'll see who's still available that might fill that need.

Lakers management is very slow when it comes to trades and will generally wait until the last minute to pull one off since they like to hold on to their cards. My problem with that is that we don't have a whole lot of time right now.

Hahaha Lakers have trouble stopping young quick guards and you want them to sign Fisher.

This. If we end up trading Gasol, K-Mart plus the player we get in return might be good. We really need a back up guard though. Meeks and Morris are not cutting it.

Delonte west would diminish some our problems. He's a pretty good defender and he can dismiss Kobe and Nash allowing them some rest. He can also shoot the ball and play make. I really don't care if he's a headcase because at this point not like we can be any worse. Low risk high reward kind of move

I agree, but no one wants him.

With Hill/Clark showing that they can step up,we should trade Pau for bench help.

If we could make a deal with a team like Sacramento we would be set.

Gasol for Evans/Brooks/Hayes

pg:Nash/Brooks
sg:Evans/Meeks
sf:Kobe/Metta
pf:Hill/Clark/Hayes
c:Dwight/Sacre

Fisher is done, lol. We don't need a 39 year old guard backing up the starting 39 year old guard. I definitely think it's time for Fisher to get into a managment position with the Lakers, or even an assistant coaching spot. Having a guy like him around is always a good thing.

There will be a day coming soon. 2014 maybe. This team will have to get younger.

Lets continue to lose to apply pressure so the Lakers do something big SOON... The reality is simple, if you beilieve in MD, you need to get hium his wings, if you don't, get a coach who can coach the pieces we currently have on the roster, PERIOD...

The key words are "Best available"... There may not be a move that significantly improves the team right now. We may have to suck it up until the off season...
But personally I don't think that's the case. I just don't have any idea where the right pieces are coming from... Or who they are.

See this is what I think might be the condition of the team at this point. I don't mind them making a trade to improve the team. I want to make sure it is something to benefit them in the long run. A trade just to shake things up and hope it improves them a little this year, might hinder them for years to come. The Lakers squeaking into the 8th spot only to be knocked out in the first round does nothing to help. This season might be too late to have a huge shift our destiny.

Plus next year contracts like Pau's and others become easier to trade for real value, due to them being expiring.
