It's kinda funny if you look back at LeBron's decision now. He chose Miami to win multiple championships but most importantly, to relieve himself of carrying a team single-handily night in and night out. Fast forward to now (and even last year, and the year before to some extent), we see the situation is pretty much the same. I'll even argue it's worse this year because those 60+ win Cavs had quite a few games where they did enough work to rest LeBron for whole 4th quarters. The Heat almost halfway through the season have had like three such games, all of them at the very beginning. Three quarter of all their games (or even more) were grind out affairs where it came down to the last minute.
So yeah, LeBron is shouldering an unbelievable load, even bigger than in his late Cleveland years. Sure he has Wade & Bosh, who play at an all-star level, but after that it's pretty much a pool of inconsistent one-dimensional or even useless players. No doubt, the team got worse from last year, mainly because of the decline of certain key role players such as Chalmers, UD, Miller, Battier... Pretty amazing too, considering they've essentially only lost Turiaf (who wasn't even playing) and signed Ray Allen.
This was suppose to be easy for LeBron and the Heat when he signed in Miami, but I think it speaks volume when Spo doesn't trust any non-LeBron lineup there for more than a couple of minutes. Their lucky the East is putrid and only has one solid team every year it seems (Chicago, Boston, New York?). Sad sad stuff...
