I am not pretending that I do know Jim Buss, but as a fan, I can only go off of what is presented to me during his availability to the media. I can safely assume that he had a roll in putting this team together and locking in Nash & Dwight. For that I am very appreciative, but I would be lying if I did not admit I harbor ill will towards Jimmy Buss for his beef with Phil.

I do not trust the guy right now as it pertain to the future direction of this franchise.

This team has developed zero chemistry and given no reason for Howard to want to be a Laker, outside of the standard facts that it is a storied organization in the best city in America.

The less this clown says right now the better, classic story of when a kid goes to run his Father's business and just pisses all over himself. Clearly if he wants to stick to this coach and this system, different pieces are needed.

Glad I could entertain everyone here, albiet in an unintentional fashion. I respect you all for holding down a tight board here, I just had to vent some frustration after hearing this morning's comments.

PJ wants to be a gm. Jim Buss should of made a deal promising pj a gm spot only if he delivered one ring in the next two seasons

Do you think Jim operates outside of Dr buss?

You can make a case that Dr Buss didn't want Phil back as much as Jim.

Even if PJ is too much, at least hire someone better than Mike D'Antoni. What an atrocious coach, our main players are all old save Howard, yet we are third in pace and playing small ball.

Said it way before and will say it again, I didn't like MB but given the choice I'd rather just stick with Brown instead. At least he knows the only chance to win something noteworthy is to play half-court ball

I get the frustration with D'Antoni but tell me who else was out there ? Too many guys mention Sloan, the man was burnt out, that leaves McMillan. But he runs a low possession offense, something that Dr.Buss wanted no part of anymore. We knew they weren't going to SVG of JVG, they both don't like Dwight.

The coaching well is running dry, the next wave of coaches will come from teams with solid head coaches and have time to mode one of his top assistants.

Didn't hear Jim talk about how the Lakers will finally get into the lottery and get a good young player.... oh that's because the Lakers gave that pick to PHX.

Getting both Howard and Nash was great work. Just about every other decision for the last three years sucked. Wasted money on Blake, etc. and coaching decisions; Tbench would be great if this was 2006.

A very good point, I cannot say for certain what type of freedom Jim has away from the good Doctor. All we have heard is that Jim is now more or less overseeing team issues and that Dr. Buss has taken a step back.

Dr. Buss could have decided not to bring Phil back, simply because he did not want to have to listen to the griping from Jim. Even if he had wanted Phil back, it is headache that Dr. Buss may have not wanted.

Regardless, this is where the team is at and it is up to the people who are in place to right the ship.
