Interesting! If this dude saves the Kings, I just may get 24-Hour Fitness membership even though I have access to the brand-new state-of-the-art gym at Sac State.

I know it hurts, but here was no support for this team and that includes the local government plus Seattle has great fans.

The Seattle group has very deep pockets & knows they are going to lose a lot money. Most sport teams lose money, especially in the NBA.
The local buyer doesn't pay relocation fees so that knocks the costs down 20-25%. There is also framework for a new arena, so conceivably they don't have to buy into Sleep Train at all. They can rent it from the Maloofs (they own it) until the new spot is built.
Furthermore with the Maloofs they can sell the loan to the city to Mastrov and he can do as he wishes. I don't think anyone would fuss if that loan ($64m) was allowed to stay on payment schedule if the team stays. If the team goes it's FU Pay me!

You disagree? Sacramento is dead last in attendance. I'm not blowing smoke just stating the facts.

The fans didn't support the team nor did the local government. Also Seattle does have great fans.

I thought that there was a report yesterday that said the 500+ offer included paying off the city and relocation fees? So a local buyer could conceivably match the Seattle deal (from the Maloof's perspective) with an offer tens of millions of dollars smaller.

Essentially, our bidders can pay about 100 mil less then Hansen and still win it.
He was 2nd for the Warriors bidding, which was sold for 450 mil - so if he and his group got frustrated and ponys up from what the Warriors offers I think we're in the clear as far as beating 525.

Seriously get the **** out.
Sacramento SOLD OUT their arena 18 out of the 28 years they're in Sac.
The Local government is pretty much the one fighting for this team to stay - opposed to Seattle's who left the team alone to die.
Stop talking out of your ass and just piss off.

My family has been a season ticket holder since 06. There is support for this team (and the Raiders if they want to move up) but at some point when you see your owners flirting with any and everyone you're like I'm done! I mean seriously if any owners in Philly pulled what the Maloofs have done those owners would be looking at death threats.

Another big problem is the Maloofs can sell the team to who they want. They don't like Burkle or KJ so any offer involving them wouldn't be considered unless they offer over 525 million. Don't forget Larry Ellison was the highest bidder for the Warriors, but Cohen sold the team to someone else.

Their reasons for selling are not to spite the community, but rather to make money. If all the Kings wanted to do was stick it to use they would have been gone.

Re: Oh God no. Sold to Seattle owners?
Feel bad for you guys. I remember when you had the loudest arena in the league, and no one wanted to play the Kings in the playoffs. If the team does move, hopefully you get a team back later on down the road

Re: Oh God no. Sold to Seattle owners?
The Kings will have plenty of expenses, at least a $30 million dollar relocation fee to be paid to their fellow NBA owners, as well as $10 to $15 million in moving expenses. They don't have that big of an advantage. From SI "Ellison said they did not outbid him. After the announcement of the agreement, Ellison -- who has not been available to comment throughout the process --- said in a prepared statement that he submitted a bid above the $450 million that Guber and Lacob offered. Although I was the highest bidder, Chris Cohan decided to sell to someone else. In my experience this is a bit unusual. Nonetheless, I wish the Warriors and their fans nothing but success under their new ownership."

Re: Oh God no. Sold to Seattle owners?
Well step right in Mr. Ellison! 450 mil would be enough to win Hansen's 525.
Just be sure to make him sign a paper that says he's not allowed to move the team away from Sacramento for the next 20 orso years.

We are aware, but my question is to you how does this apply to the Kings, because we're saying a person who's interested in the Kings does not have to match dollar for dollar with Seattle's group. You're proving our point actually.
