Please vote for the player that you think currently has the most trade value and please list a nominee that should be added the voting list. Remember this is trade value, so factors such as salary/contract, age, potential, production, injuries, etc. should all be factored in to your vote.

V: Kobe
N: George

Holiday is a good nominee, but George gets the nod ahead of him. Possibly should have gone before Curry (I went Curry last time so thats on me as well), but has he not gotten a single nom vote yet? It looks like it, and that is crazy.

I take George before Favors/Cousins/Monroe. Indy fans should be representing more in this thread.

Vote: Gasol
- This is between Rondo and Gasol in my opinion. While Rondo is a great PG, he has some limitations. Gasol is about as rounded a center as there is in the league. Love Rondo's contract, but Gasol's is not a killer. In a push, I give the nod to the big man.

Nominate: Monroe
- Again, debating between a few of those guys, but the big man gets the nod from me over Holiday/MKG/Wall ect. Favors would be a great choice too, its difficult to say exactly. Great rebounder and passer for a big man, I believe his shooting numbers will probably improve. Rookie contract huge plus over guys like Lopez, Ibaka, Bosh... I also think Paul George should get a mention here soon, he might not make the top 25 cut-off, but at the least he will come close. (EDIT: I see Hartford felt the same)

Also, I would like to share my philosophy, that any sort of player rankings are best understood in terms of tiers instead of a linear list. I think it's a little silly to get upset about a player going a few spots too high or too low. Realistically, players separated by a few spots have essentially the same value, it's really splitting hairs to put one above the other.

Oh yeah, I also have a spiel about Kobe. There are only a few teams he would be happy going to, which limits his value. If a team has to match 20+ million in decent (non-negative) value contracts, and also add a high quality trade asset, then they would be gutting themselves. A team that guts themselves to try and trade for Kobe, will probably have him veto it, so he doesn't have to play with scrubs. His value is thus limited, because a team literally cannot make too big of an offer for him.

Same as last time,

Vote: Rondo
Nominate: MKG

A brief thought on the Monroe: Speaking as a Pistons fan, he seems over-rated here. He's a solid rebounder, has lots of moves, is a decent free throw shooter and is a good guy. But he can't be effective without being ball-dominant, and isn't efficient enough to be effective in a ball-dominant role. Defensively he is very un-good. Favors, MKG and Holiday all seem clearly more valuable than him. I'm curious whether those nominating Monroe have watched him play much this season. If so, what are you seeing that I'm not?

Vote: Deron Williams - His so called decline is nonsense. He was riddled by injuries in a funk with an atrocious coach, he's looked like a monster with PJ at the helm even if his raw numbers and per games aren't up to spec. That's more so been all the blowouts and control of the game. He's a superstar by play and name and locked up for 5 seasons.

Nominate: Brook Lopez - What's there to say? In real life a number of GM's love him and a number of respected writers have vouched that GM's and FO people told them in the summer that they never understood the holdup with a Dwight trade cause there were many a team willing to give up huge assets to be the 3rd team that facilitated the deal. The real holdup was Hump and the Magic being butthurt. He's having a whale of a season and isn't anywhere close to his peak in all likelihood. If he ever learns to make decisions faster and therefore pass better he'll be a top 12 lock every year in player ranking lists.

Happy Nellie? :tooth

Very... 2/3 so far are putting thought into it, and I think I saw a very realistic Monroe take from a Detroit fan... I'm over the top :D

Im stick with

V: Rondo

Almost traded for CP3, was clearly more valuable than Curry, which IMO sets up a nice range parameter for him. Not a game changer but a prototypical athletic 1 that can get anyone involved while playing lockdown D on the other end

N: Nic Batum

Might be a bit early, but I'm way sold on this guy. Capable defender, ballhandler, creator, and shooter. I think he has legitimate top 10 potential at the wing position, which is pretty rare. Locked up for the next few years to boot... And excellent TS%

V: Da white Howard- Chris Paul went 6th despite his upcoming Free agent status so i dont see why the best center in the league is getting snubbed

Vote: Kobe. Again.
Nominate: I've been nominating Bosh for a while now,but after thinking about it a bit longer, I'm going to select someone who hasn't been discussed at all. Tim Duncan.
Yes, he'll be 37 in April and is signed for two more seasons after this one. But at this point, even after so many seasons, Duncan is unquestionably a top 3 bigman in the league, has an argument to be THE best one. He has value for a rebuilding team as well because he is the ur-teammate who can establish a winning culture and be a mentor to play the right way. And he's only signed for about 10 million per season. Yes, the chances of him being traded are as realistic as me winning the Powerball tomorrow, but the same with Lebron or Kobe.

So, Duncan is my nom.
But do you know what they call a fool, who's full of himself and jumps into the path of death because it's cool?

More I think about it, the more I think Dwight should have been my vote. He may not be
100% healthy, and he's a headache, but he can be the 2nd most dominant player in the league any given day. Im a big believer in 'what have you done for me lately' but Dwight has a long-standing track record for dominance. Next round I think I'll go Dwight

I think Dwight should be off the board by now but most seem to disagree, and so I'll save my vote for whichever candidate has the best chance of beating Kobe out. I just don't think the Lakers would get much were they to trade him.

At this point I don't think there is any player with so wide a gap between his ability and his trade value as Howard. Healthy, motivated and well coached he's a top three or four player in the league. But most teams wouldn't have a prayer of re-signing him, which dramatically lowers his value. Add to that the possibility that he signs a huge contract and can never live up to it medically, along with his rather deserved "occasional team cancer" reputation, and his trade value just isn't nearly what his on-court talents would suggest.

Why has Parker been deleted from the nominated list when he was listed some days ago?
