I think Al Horford is playing hurt...

Post#1 » by parson » Sat Jan 12, 2013 2:50 am

.... watching him tonight, he wimped out for almost all the game, UNTIL the last 9-10 minutes. Then, he was blocking, bumping, running and most noticeably, he was stretching his body more. Looks to me like he's hurting and trying not to re-injure himself.

Anybody else see this?

Been a tad worried that he came into the season wearing knee braces, not pads. The latter guys wear to prevent bumps to the patella and for fashion, the former guys wear when their ligaments are bothering them. Has looked a tad slow all season and it's shown in the stats where he is unusually putrid on defense against PFs. He's handling bigger guys despite the measurement limitations better than quicker PFs for the first time in his career.

His defense hasn't been steady, his jump shot isn't as reliable... he def. doesn't look like the player of previous years, that's for sure.
GO HAWKS.

Maybe Florida's strength and conditioning program is better than ours?

The extra stretching he keeps doing is proof positive to me. Just watch him. His hip is bothering him.

Al just said on 680 the fan that he has been injured for the past few weeks with the calf/knee issue. Guess we were right.
