Our 2nd and 3rd Quarters

Post#1 » by TARIQ » Sat Jan 12, 2013 12:32 pm

I have realised we play good basketball in the 1st and 4th quarter. By 2nd and 3rd quarter teams go on massive runs, is there a reason for this we always get outscored in either the 2nd or 3rd quarter by 30+points.

PG seems like he could be even better than Kobe... IMO.

We play bad in the 2nd quarter b/c were an old team. We can't sustain the type of energy required to play in a Dantoni ball system. Is it our players fault? No, we can't expect 30+ year old to play this type of offense. I truly feel its the job of the coach to put a system in place that best compliments its players.

We play bad in the 3rd quarter b/c we are not making the proper half time strategy changes. A good coach must make the proper changes as he sees fit to alter the teams playing style.

4th quarter-we always play from behind. We are veteran savvy enough to make a good run but most of the time dig ourselves too big of a hole to play out of.

Ending thoughts: WE NEED A SYSTEM TO PLAY TO OUR STRENGTHS

Better teams with younger athletes play better defense the whole game.... Shocking but true.

It's where every game has changed, in our championship years the 3rd quarter is where we finished teams.

we start the game strong because we can.

then teams adjust, and proceed to destroy us.

then in the 4th quarter, when teams are up by 20, they drop their intensity and we make a comeback, only to never get back over the hump because teams switch back on
