Official playoff watch

Post#1 » by AntwanBoldin » Fri Jan 11, 2013 5:49 am

Right now were like 6th, well be 2 games back of the Knicks in a couple days.

I think we'll end up the 2nd seed unless shumpert lights it up

Not sure who'll finish 7th. Milwaukee ? maybe Atlanta

Also, although it's unlikely, even the 1st seed is up for grabs with us, the Knix, the cHeat and the Pacers all in the semi-realistic running.

^Don't quote me on this but I think the top 3 seeds are reserved for division winners so if the Knix are 2 best we can be is 4.

Edit:nvm that's false we could be 3 as long as the other two division winners are top 4.

I think this thread is a bit premature. We have yet to even reach the halfway mark... a LOT of things can change in the next 3 months.

Actually AFAIK you're correct. Top 3 seeds are division winners.

Didn't they change it a few years ago so that a 4th seed can be a division winner, they don't have to necessarily be a top 3, but a top 4.

Division winners have to be top 4. The Celtics won the division last year, but were the 4 seed despite Atlanta (5 seed) having a better record. The Pacers were the 3 seed without winning the division.

Yeah, division winners are top 4, not necessarily top 3. The 4th team is the team with the best record outside of the 3 division winners, and those 4 teams are then ranked by record.

Knicks getting blown out at home. Nets will be two back of the division once that game goes final.

Atlanta outscored Utah 35-19 in the fourth to squeak out a win at home, otherwise we'd be looking even better in the conference standings.

Deron questionable. Wallace questionable. Watson and Blatche banged up. JJ and Tele sick. Brook's time of the month. This stretch of tough games couldn't come at a worse time.

I think we might be able to let the Indiana game slide by resting Deron and Wallace, and then maybe rest them again against Toronto in a game that we should win anyway...that way, they should be fine by the time we go up against the Hawks 2x and the Knicks.

Deron will play. It's not the kind of injury that will get worse playing on it.

Thanks everybody for clearing that up with the seeding. I remembered they talked about changing it, but didn't know they did already.

LMAO at Brook's time of the month.

I think Deron will play, he looked good when he came back. Wallace is probably gonna be out for a few games.

But I don't think we need him to beat Indy. We need more offense than defense to beat them. Either JJ or Brook really have to go off.

Idk, Deron was noticeably a LOT slower after the knock. And with injuries like these, there is usually muscle soreness the next day.

I can see Wallace being out a few games.

Bad News: Deron is questionable, Gerald is out, Kris is questionable, Mirza is still sick, Joe is still sick..

Good News: Paul George is sick and is questionable for tomorrow.

Well Mirza is listed as probable, and JJ should play if he was able to play yesterday.

I know Hump and D-Will are up in the air at this point. I think D-Will in limited minutes should be fine. I don't care for Hump if Mirza is available, Mirza is quite clearly better imo.
