bynum should lead second unit

Post#1 » by pistontr » Sun Jan 13, 2013 11:54 am

bynum and stuckey can not play together. 2 pgs means zero pg. our second unit have slumped since stuckey have returned.

Yeah, the team plays better when its PG + 3 shooters + Drummond. Adding Stuckey has made the bench more ineffective because the floor is not as spread and Stuckey is ridiculously ball dominant. Frank, is an idiot for not noticing this, and Joe D is a fool if he doesnt make any trades.

Bynum ran the 2nd unity extremely well yesterday during the 2nd quarter imo. Granted he played some minutes with Knight and Knight is a shooter but he did an amazing job as always getting everyone involved.

After the 3rd quarter collapse it was obvious we were gonna lose so I decided to go do something else instead of watch that garbage so I don't know how he did in the 4th quarter.

I'm sure Frank notices this. He even acknowledged it when Bynum flat out said the bench plays better with 1 PG, and Stuckey should go back to the starting lineup.

The problem is that I'm sure Frank also noticed that Stuckey didn't fit in the starting lineup either, when we went 0-8 to start the year. And if Stuckey isn't getting done at PG with the 2nd unit, I doubt he wants to make him his starting PG..

So he's really "stuck" for lack of a better word. Its on Joe to trade him if he doesn't fit anymore. But if Frank just starts benching him, its only going to make it harder to trade him and/or lower his value.

Given that the last year of his deal is only partially guaranteed, I have to think that there are contenders out there that would be interested in adding him as a scorer off the bench. Getting a late 1st round pick for him from a contender is not unrealistic.

Before Stuckey got injured he was doing just fine running the second unit when Bynum was out of the rotation. Bynum led an amazing comeback..but he's still Will Bynum. You take away that less second comeback and this thread isn't made. I'd rather try a lineup of

Stuckey
Daye
Maggette
CV
Dre

and see how Stuckey does running the offense with those guys.

Will Bynum has always been great in the"playing from behind" role and energizing a comeback. That should be the only time he sees the floor. When we're playing with a lead we get mixed (usually bad) results from him.

He's a sparkplug. That's his role.

Bynum should be traded while his value is at its highest.
