You were Team Beal last year.

Well duh, Lillard wasn't a target of ours

For all you guys banging on about Bennett: You know what drafting him would mean. Right?

I mean, you know where he is from and what adding him to our team would bring. Right?

Just think about that for a second....

In saying that, at least vorbis and I could EASILY get a Bennett Bobcats authentic jersey if we did draft him!!

Obviously we need talent first and foremost but I think due to really polished offensive games, Baz, Bennett and McLemore definitely spearhead the list. Z-Rex and Noel (and Len) are probably next simply for being bigs that should be able to board well. I think Poythress is still a potential wildcard/homerun candidate. But if Bennett projects out to play 4 in the NBA, I wouldn't be surprised if he was the best fit for us.

I think a lot of outsiders are going to call for us to take Cody because he's that cliche "high character, skilled, produce now" guy. Just like everybody thought we neeeeeded Robinson so badly.

guys like Goodwin, Poythress, and Mitchell have the potential to be in our range by draft night because they're so raw right now but have as much talent as anybody else in the country.

Bennett still scares me due to his height and perimeter love, but he can work his way into my heart (aww) if he can show he has a true low post game we so desperately need. I don't want him to be a meaner, shorter Mully. I want him to be ZBo Jr. He still has time, but I'm nervous about him.

Noel is super productive and a 5x5 threat every night, but he's just not a good offensive player. Davis didn't take the offensive lead until late into last year but you could always tell he was super skilled on that side of the floor. Noel is nowhere near that. He looks like a potentially better version of Bismack, but I'd rather go a different route than that if we had the choice.

Really sort of leaves Bazz and McLemore right now. McLemore has shown he has a much more complete game than Bazz, but that's manifested itself into a bit of passiveness/inconsistency at times. I'd like to get more than a pure finisher with a top pick but we reaaalllly need a 30 point threat on a nightly basis and MKG's do-it-all game could hide some of Bazz's deficiencies

If we draft Cody ill be devastated. His T-Rex arms alarm me.

I never watch college ball, so I pretty much go by what I read from scouts and from here.
Probably why I can never decide on a player.

The reports are getting increasingly underwhelming with this draft class.

I guess I will just keep my fingers crossed for Shabazz

I think we have enough guys that would give Dick Vitale a boner in Kemba, MKG, and Hendo (if he's still here) to give Zeller a pass.

I would not compare Bennett's game to Mully's. AB seems as much inside-out as he is outside-in. He might have the most polished offensive game in country right now. The height scares me but his arms look pretty long. I think he's the best fit for us b/c he can score everywhere and potentially rebound.

Noel I still really like because I think he's coachable so he'd be more productive right away than most people give him credit for. But we'd be waiting a couple of years before that offense came along. Not as long as Biz but still. If Cho didn't feel like taking on Drummond (whose offense is a bit more polished) alongside Biz b/c of too many raw bigs than he'd probably ax Noel off the draft board.

Bazzy I think is the 2nd best fit b/c on D he and MKG would be really interchangeable. MKG can cover Baz's man on D if Baz has a 2 that's too quick for him. He and McLemore can both fill it up but I think Baz has a slight edge b/c he has wee bit better size.

Must have something to do with the UNLV/Larry Johnson/Hornets connection but I still don't really get it.

Anthony Bennett had 22 points (9-14 shooting) and 16 rebounds in a OT win tonight. He exhausts so much energy on the offensive end in the post just to get the ball in collegiate play with zones that it's difficult to evaluate his overall play because he's usually gassed by the time he get the ball or to play transition defense. However defense isn't his strong suit and he seems anti-clutch (missed multiple free throws down the stretch). Otherwise, he's the best all-around scorer entering this draft not named Shabazz Muhammad.

My board is still #1. Shabazz Muhammad, #2. Nerlens Noel, #3. Anthony Bennett, #4. Ben McLemore, #5. Alex Len.

Correct - and with him would come a LOT of Raptors posters to this board.

We would need 15 more mods.....

Scout recommends Charlotte Bobcats trade 2013 NBA draft pick

The 2012 NBA draft was good, not great.

It had one can’t-miss prospect (New Orleans big man Anthony Davis), another quick-emerging star (Portland point guard Damian Lillard) and a bunch of guys who’ll be solid contributors with lengthy careers.

If two NBA scouts who travel the country each college basketball season are right, the 2013 draft won’t come close to that.

The Observer consulted with two long-time scouts (neither connected to the Charlotte Bobcats) as conference seasons commence in the college game. Each works for a team likely to have a top-10 pick. Each spoke on condition of anonymity because neither is authorized by his employer to speak publicly on draft prospects.

While the two conversations were separate, each conveyed the same conclusion: This isn’t the year a franchise-changer will emerge from the draft process

“I don’t think this is a good draft,” said one scout. “This is the year you should consider trading your draft pick – no matter where it is.”

I kinda agree. It seems like only Muhammad and McLemore have star potentials in this draft class.

I didn't think any of the 2013 prospects were worth tanking for but now that we're almost halfway there we might as well gamble on one of Shabazz Muhammad or Anthony Bennett becoming a star player. Nerlens Noel wouldn't be a bad choice to help our frontcourt defensive woes though.

Trade our pick for what? I would swap it for someone like Favors or Beal but I don't see either or those deals happening.

Can't trade the pick at all this year, since we owe Chicago a future first. Since that pick could be next year, can't trade a pick this year at all. Only thing we could do is remove the protection on our pick and give it to Chicago this year. Nice reporting Bonnell.
Who I woulda took:
2023: Miller | 2022: Duren | 2021: Bouknight, Jones | 2020: Ball | 2019: PJ | 2018: MPJ | 2017: Monk | 2016: Damian Jones | 2015: Winslow | 2014: Vonleh, Napier | 2013: McLemore | 2012: MKG | 2011: Knight, Kawhi
