I'm not going to make the opposite appeal to authority now because its not needed. People make those appeals to authority when their arguments can't stand on logic.

I'm ready to throw some of you in the flat-earthers group of loons. Pat Riley does his usual job the same as the last two years and it shows he sees the problems with the team? SMH. PEACE.

what's up fellow heat fans, im new here and i have a question to ask but first im going to reply to the topic at hand...

im not to hype on picking up the birdman, he's only a career 5.2reb per game & he only played 32 games last season, so right now he's out of basketball shape, personally i would go for kenyon martin but that's just me... also i cant believe the heat are going after greg oden, that's not a good move right there...

and does anybody on here know how to make an avatar 10pixels?

The Wiretap says Greg Oden is interested in the Heat. Not the other way around.

How's that free agent pursuit going? I told you we were just doing the same thing as last season. If anything, we're waiting for the deadline to see if anyone actually good shakes out. PEACE.

You always miss the point. What I'm saying is old dudes can produce in limited minutes and he played well for them until he hurt his foot. He's been great for them in the mind he's played.

Hope you packed the Heat midgets lunchboxes full of effort sandwiches tonight

Consider this your one and only warning. GT3

Center Chris "Birdman" Anderson, who auditioned for the Heat on Tuesday, is staying in South Florida to work on improving his conditioning, with the hope Miami will sign him. But the Heat has made no decision.

Ridiculous lack of Big men acquisition moves by the Heat.

Pat Riley is not just a GM, but also a part owner, except his share of the pie is much much smaller than Arison's, and therefore he will watch his spending because to him the money made, retained or not lost, the more for him.

That's my only problem with GM/owner deal.

Riley sold his shares to Nick Arison quite some time ago, so this theory doesn't apply here.

You are right and I forgot about this.
Still, what's with the lack of acquisition?
If is not money then what.
Is this franchise standards higher then most all of a sudden because they're contenders now?
The big men they have on the team, with the exception of Bosh are quite undesirable by most teams, so it should not be that either , I would hope.

We simply don't have the money and next offseason we'll have another mini mle to offer at most. Most legit rebounding centers (legit 6'11 without shoes or taller) are worth more than that, even the aging ones like Marcus Camby.

Nothing we can do about it other than move some contracts for a trade, but trust me no team is going to help us, they don't want us to have a Center.

Perhaps getting Greg Oden will be a good idea for next year, but for the present year we're stuck with what we got.

Bull. Marcus Camby was interested in coming to play for us for the LLE but Riley made Ray Allen #1 priority instead. We would really only need Camby in small minutes in the reg season until the playoffs come. That's when Camby would have become even more valuable. If Riley had made Camby his #1 priority, he would be in a HEAT jersey right now.

I still think Riley should be on the phone right now trying to acquire Ante Tomic or Buroussis from the euroleague. Either of those guys can rebound and help this team off the bench. All it would cost is money to buyout their contract from the euroleague. Their chances of actually sniffing the court is 100000x greater than Varnado, Pittman, or the other scrub big men we have on the roster.

ALSO. P.S. Dexter Pittman is a joke and needs to be cut. I've seen this story play out before. If he was any good, he would have been able to earn playing time by now. He's in his 3rd season. He's a scrub. Cut him, he's wasting a roster spot that we could be using on experimenting with big men who could potentially play right now.

Camby's played 14 games this season and can't stay on the court due to injuries. Not including the two lockout years, this will mark the...

- 11th time in 15 full seasons he's played less than 70 games
- 6th time in 15 full seasons he's played less than 60 games

Heat are looking to be repeat champions not running a MASH unit. Quality non-signing by Riley.

Yea, Camby wasn't the answer. too old. Allen was a good addition, we just another one - a Center under 36.
