How do these Rockets rank as fun to watch in team history?

Post#1 » by 90sAllDecade » Thu Jan 10, 2013 8:17 pm

How fun is this team to watch in comparison to Rockets teams of years past for you?

Personally, I think this is the most satisfying, excited I've been to watch a Rockets game since the Olajuwon years.

We've gotten a young player with top 5, MVP caliber potential, borderline all stars with star potential, a winning team and the fastest pace, #1 scoring offense.

This team has blown away just about everyone's expectations so far.

I can go back as far as Early 90's, maybe 92...

Olajuwon (Horry aka Fresh Prince was awesome)
Olajuwon/Drexler
Olajuwon/Drexler/Barkley
Yao/McGrady
Yao/Francis/Moochie

Then White LBJ Rockets.

I think I'm also the only one who enjoyed last years Rockets... that team was fun but I think im the only one who thinks so :(

I liked last years Rockets too....until we started closing every game w/ Patterson at center, even if Dalembert and/or Camby were playing well.

There's this year's team.
The first year of Scola/Landry was a FUN team.
So was the first year of McGrady.
Prior to that, perhaps 93-94?

I have no idea how I'd rank them, though.

Q:How are they experts when they're always wrong?

I might like this team better than anything that did not have Olajuwon.

I really did like the scrappy, underdog teams of the past few years and as much as I liked Yao & McGrady individually those teams were heartbreaking.

This new team is just so much fun to watch and this is just the beginning!

:o
Everyone forgetting Yao & TMac!?!

Everyone knows damn well how excited you were when we got Yao.
I looked at my brother and told him back then... "They are going to go after McGrady"

Getting Yao and McGrady was 2nd most exciting thing to happen to this franchise... Every year, we believed.
Didn't matter if the style was boring we all came back each season excited, each post season excited.
13 in 33 excited
22 straight excited.

Y'all just mad cause how it ended.

As a T-Wolves fan, I'd say your team is damn fun to watch. I love Harden's game and the Rockets are filled with likeable guys.

Nothing beats our championship teams. However, even though the years sucked, I did like the Franchise era. It was all flair, and no substance. But you could be damn sure, Francis would be in the top 10 plays list every game.

Olajuwon Era basketball was different though. It was as pure a form of Basketball, that I have ever seen in the NBA. Olajuwon was the best player in the NBA those two years, no question. (Yes, yes, I know, no Jordan, blah blah blah.)

Whilst I was excited during the Yao & Tmac era, it also made me very cynical. (Injuries, Injuries, Injuries!!!!)

Ahead of TMac/Yao for me. Like Max said, JVG's offense was a snoozefest.

T-Mac's last year of his prime (2004-05) was must see TV.

harden is fun to watch when his playing well but not the rest of the team fake as s lin? is fun to watch  marcus morris? patterson  parsons ?? asik?? is fun to watch

i miss yao he was fun to watch

I can only comment on the current team.

The run and gun style of game make this team a pleasure to watch. I just hope the team can sustain that type of game.

I admit that we need to work on our defense but I think we just need to give them time. I think the coaches are just trying to make the best of what they have at the moment.
