The weekend was filled with hopeful stories in the Sacramento Bee about groups that were lining up to make potential bids to the Maloof family to buy the Kings and keep them in Sacramento. Those groups may well exist. And they may have the money. It doesn’t matter.
The Maloofs own the team, and they aren’t interested in selling to anyone interested in keeping the team in Sacramento.

I'd still wait to hear this substantiated a little. It's just so hard to believe. Seems so unmotivated.

Re: Maloof Brothers looking to screw Sacramento
They don't want to sell to any locals & they don't have to. The selling price is going to be an issue for any local buyers. The team is worth 300 & paying 525 million is crazy, especially for a team in this shape. The only chance the Maloofs won't screw us is if we let them keep part of the team.

Just let them help out "evaluating" draft picks or w/e without really listening, come to games in the front row and have the cameras at them at times.. make them feel important but in reality be totally irrelevant.
If that's what keeps the Kings in Sac, I'm all for it.
