He was an amazing coach in the CFL but i'm not exactly sure how that's going to translate to the NFL.

A CFL Coach...

Yeah, good luck with that. This is big boy football. The Bears are on the verge of having to completely rebuild, wouldn't shock me if they fall to among the worst teams in the league in a couple years.
Eric Maynor is the worst basketball player I've ever seen.

Just because he's from the CFL doesn't mean he won't have success.

Bears are hoping for the coaching-version of Cameron Wake.

In Trestman's defense, he basically has the same pedigree as Marv Levy.

That's not necessarily a bad thing to say.

Best coaching hire of the offseason in terms of fit for talent. Trestman is a truly amazing football mind and a very successful NFL coach. He's got a bit of a mad scientist vibe to him and he's not a good interview, that's why he's been in Canada. He stayed there because he was winning and had the Tom Brady of the CFL, but dude (Carvallo) is 40 and just had shoulder surgery. I was hoping he would get the Cleveland job but they chose the Chud instead.

I can tell you his hiring was incredibly well-received by the NFL people in St. Pete for Shrine Game. Everyone is laughing at the Eagles for getting duped for more $$ by Chip Kelly.
It's not whether you win or lose, it's how good you look playing the game

Sean Jensen@seankjensen
Rod Marinelli not returning as #Bears defensive coordinator, according to @ZachZaiman. Lot of respect for in-house candidate Jon Hoke

5m Sean Jensen ‏@seankjensen
As I noted yesterday, Marc Trestman was open to having Marinelli stay, but Rod is very close with Lovie Smith and preferred new start

4m Sean Jensen ‏@seankjensen
While Marinelli is under contract, Trestman certainly doesn't want any coach around who doesn't want to be here, especially 1 so influential

Sean Jensen ‏@seankjensen
#Bears players will be devastated. But if Jon Hoke is promoted -- and everyone believes he's more than ready -- that would be welcomed

Damn!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Marinelli will be a hot candidate with the way the Bears defense played for most of the season.
