Larry Drew and Josh Smith having Trouble!

Post#1 » by thegamefritz » Wed Jan 16, 2013 7:59 pm

Larry drew has said the there will be change esp. in the line up after they were blown by the Bulls in which hwaks only scored 58pts the entire game! Now J SMOOVE has been suspended and kicked out from their practice!!

My point here is don't you think this is the time that Mitch is gonna make a move?? perfect opportunity!

Is Josh Smith's jumper much worse than Earl Clark? For those talking about fit...

frankly any trade in which we move pau is good for us. smith might not be a great fit, but neither is pau

I have some hope that L.A. finally makes the Dwight-Pau defensive switch and it ends up heavily to their advantage. On offense it can work (in fact it works to a slightly higher offensive rating than the current group).

He would be like an Earl Clark with his versatiliy on defense, by playing vs muliple positions. Our defense would improve a bunch. Heard of him having a low iq though, and taking bad shots, but as long as he can d up, would be huge. Pau hasn't offered defense nor offense, at least the Lakers would get some defense and make Dwight happy.

Atlanta would probably want to get younger, unless they believe they are a contending team with Pau at C and Horford at PF. That would be interesting to see.

If we could play at the end game or have a starting 5 of
PG-NASH
SG-KOBE
SF-MWP
PF-SMITH
C-D12

that would a hell for the opposing team

or

PG-KOBE
SG-MWP
SF-CLARK
PF-JSMOOVE
C-D12

all of those can play a hell of D!! and they're fast and long!

If Minnesota's offer of D-Will and Pekovic is true, Atlanta would probably consider that.

I can't get a read on Smith... My long running impression of him has been that of a younger Artest with more athleticism and less skill/range... And an infinitely higher paycheck.

I get that he would make an immediate impact but might also impact our future.

But on the other hand, he's no LeBron, but he's a year younger and has less mileage... If we could intelligent him up, and get him to play a role between Dwight and Kobe, maybe it would be a more realistic/immediate solution.

Clark should not be playing SF. He's much much better at the 4 because of his versatility. Having said that we need to calm down on him. He's better than McRoberts but he's no Lamar either.

His best year was when his coach told him to stop taking 3s, so he's not really a great fit offensively with D'Antoni unfortunately.

Not really buying that every player in DAntoni's system has to hit 3s.

I mean, if out '14 plan is to get LeBron, I'm not sure how many 3s we're counting on from the 3.

So what's J Smith's comfort zone? TBH I haven't watched too many Hawks games other than the playoffs, and I wasn't paying too much attention to Smith. My impression has been more of a slasher and finisher... Which is what we need too with Kobe and Nash slowing down.

Problem with acquiring Josh is he's not only an expiring at season's end but he's one of Dwight's best friends...So in order to keep Dwight happy, LA must resign Smith to a rather large deal which disrupts the '14 plans. It was well known how displeased Dwight was with Orlando management when they traded C.Lee to NJ...

Is Josh Smith a great option for the immediate future, perhaps. Is he the best solution going forward, probably not..

i'm not even going to get into the josh smith thing, i've stated my disdain for him many times.

i think the important part of this is that the hawks would have absolutely zero reason to want pau.

The problem is there aren't many great options coming up for us. Every good young player in their first contract resign to max or near max deals with their original teams (Lebron did as well), Lebron has probably no interest in receiving more hate by going to the Lakers. What exactly is there that is that good for us to get in the next few years that would be a long term asset in the 2014 or 2015 free agency? I think Love is really the only person in 2015 that would be worth it.

I'd like that trade but only if the Lakers pull a Marc Cuban and only offer him a 1 year deal so it doesn't interfere with their 2014 plans

Oh and I don't see Atlanta wanting anything to do with Pau. Mitch would have to pull off some super Jedi mind tricks to make that one happen

No but Josh Smith might be attainable in a three way deal for assets. Atlanta has been looking for a C like Pekovic for years now.
