Avery is an idiot of a man who set us back a long way. Think where we'd be with a good coach in from before training camp. I hated Avery ever since he started coaching our team and it's only now people are seeing how awful Avery is and was for us.

I seriously hope that Johnson is never allowed to coach in the NBA again in any capacity.

The moment that I saw(on that episode of the association) that ass hole belittle Brooks' good effort to praise his pet project Blatche, I was assured that my suspicions of him being a fraud of a coach were legitimate.

We would have around the same record as the Heat or better if Avery wasn't at the helm to start this season. At least we've climbed back to where we belong.

Thank God Prokhorov didn't hesitate.

And the hilarious part is that the media STILL gives Avery a pass, STILL wants to blame D-Will, and STILL wants to paint Avery out to be some great head coach who got an unfair shake...what more do you need to see to prove that Avery was a detrimental head coach?

-I'm still not completely sold on Marshon, but I can't deny that he's played well under PJ, displaying a lot less of the bad habits under Avery...why is this? Why is Marshon all of a sudden looking like a solid bench player after Avery leaves?

-Deron, JJ, and Lopez look A LOT better under PJ

-Tele is looking more and more like a real game changer in this league, and he was glued to the bench under Avery, never really got a shot

-The Nets are 9-1 without Avery

You don't even need to be a fan of this team to see those results and conclude that Avery was a moron.

I haven't seen much of the Nets (so you guys have me to thank for the win streak), but it sounds like guys are playing with a lot more confidence under PJ than with Avery.

Aside from Avery's guys, it seemed everyone else had a quick hook, Mirza and Marshon specifically. There was also an article on Mirza over-bulking up during the off-season and was working with Nets trainers to gain athleticism back. How does he look now compared to early in the season in that regard?

As far as Marshon, you can't be Mar$wag when you don't have $wag...which he clearly lacked under Avery. A lot of his turnovers then were him passing up shots, likely because he thought he'd get pulled if he missed them or took the shot.

Also, let's bring back Terrence Williams. Maybe PJ can give him whatever he's giving these guys and he can start realizing his potential again

Avery actually said that Teletovic, "would never be an NBA player & that he is too slow."

He also bad mouthed Brooks but he did it to the wrong people which helped lead to his sacking I'm led to believe.

Avery is an idiot of a man who set us back a long way. Think where we'd be with a good coach in from before training camp. I hated Avery ever since he started coaching our team and it's only now people are seeing how awful Avery is and was for us.

Lopez basically lost 2 years development under Avery as well.

I still believe PJ is just letting the guys play and its working but it shouldn't stop us conducting a proper search for a top coach to be the man for a long period of time. I know the Russians will turn every stone over to get the best man for the job coaching us. PJ is a decent coach who has a veteran team doing what they we're supposed to do and for that he has to get credit. But imagine what a top level coach will do for this team.

I'm excited to be a Nets fan right now. Hopefully this stops King doing any silly lateral trades now to bring in a PF because truth be told there isn't much out there.

I hope we hold onto what we've got and move forward with better rotations, for instance Lopez is playing under 30 a night. Just tighten up the ship for the remainder of the season.

The on draft night, look and see what's available and if nothing great pops up we draft BPA and spend our $3m in the 2nd round again to acquire more assets until an opportunity presents itself to really upgrade the team.

Like I said, I'm excited and I told you all from day one, Tele can ball. I'm just glad people are getting a chance to see it now, could you imagine if Avery wasn't fired and Tele was chucked to another team as filler in a trade only to blow up in the NBA, would've been typical Nets luck.

The future is bright, the future's black and white!!

It's amazing how effective a coach can be when they know how and when to a pull a trigger...

My biggest problem w/ Avery was how close minded he was...Avery didn't have a dog house, he had lock down...to see Marshon and Tele continue to contribute is only making us a deeper and more difficult to beat...Mirza truly has an all around game and Marshon is showing he can play no matter what the minutes are...Avery' actually injected a lack of confidence in these players and it is evident how confident they are playing now...

Secondly, PJ letting these guys plays and execute off of what their god given talent is, obviously continues to show how much Avery micro managed this team...and maybe how simple this change was...

So many members on this forum have been right, it's nice to see the media recognize this and fans around the NBA see what we're capable of...this win streak is what we have all been waiting for and even without Wallace the Nets are showing how diverse this team is...

You gotta be proud of this team, its been great to watch...and literally we haven't seen this type of Nets basketball since 2006...

I just hope PJ finally completely stops playing Stackhouse at least for a while . He's just dreadful right now and can't hit any kind of open jumper not to mention he just gets burned on defense by almost anyone. He was overplayed under Avery and he probably used all he had left . He needs to sit for a few weeks maybe than he can be inserted for a spark again every once in a while . Right now he's just a liabiliy on both ends of the court.

It's not even that i hate Stack i actually like him but he looks so bad and contributed nothing at the moment.

I just wish Blatche hung onto the rim and waved his legs around, like J. Smith, KMart, etc. do on dunks. 8-)

Yep, I agree completely. If we need a wing, we have JJ/Crash/Bogans/Marshon. If we specifically need a 3, we should give Damion James a chance. Stackhouse is still a high BBIQ player and that's useful - especially if we're surrounding him with legit players like Deron, Marshon/JJ, Blatche, Mirza BUT his man defense is terrible and it feels like he hasn't made a 3 in weeks. Throw DJ out there with Watson, Marshon, Mirza, Blatche and his defense and rebounding actually fits very well in that lineup.

Stack needs to sit...(watch he'll go 3 for 3 from the arc tonight)..air balls and some shot which are clearly off, his minutes could be well used elsewhere...he has not played much, but in 30 min total in 2013 he has taken 6 shots made 1 and no 3pt baskets...sucked vs the Spurs w/ last decent game on 12/28/12 vs Cavs...

He's always been a streaky shooter, right now his jumper looks rushed...

Mirza Teletovic is a player. He is starting to figure it out as i knew he would. The biggest thing about his emergence is that this team needs some shooting in the worst way. Seriously outside of Bogans we have nobody to kick the ball out to and be confident we are about to get 3 points.

He is also playing surprisingly good defense. I love the quick hands and basketball iq he has shown. That alone put him above Humphries in my book. Humphries' lack of basketball iq is perhaps his worst trait on the court.

BTW hey everyone. I am new. Long time Nets fan. Banned from NetsDaily. Heard of RealGM. Hope the discussions are as good here as they were there. Does Rainy post here? He was one of the most insightful posters on NetsDaily. I love reading his Nets related novels.

I don't see a lot of insight on ND if not strictly because of the rapid cycle of new articles and the style of the comment system nothing is ever there for long to read, debate on and discuss and gets lost in the 1000's of comments and gifs.

Also it's mainly either rampant homerism or doom and gloom there, little middle ground or grey area.

I thoroughly enjoy that in a lot of instances, but for actual in depth discussion you can't beat this board here.

Welcome here, we need more people (well the good posters anyway) from NetsDaily to post here. I too am banned from NetsDaily after I called out a poster (the one who wants to trade Brook for Asik). Honestly, this is a better place to discuss the Nets than NetsDaily, its just a lot less active. But the posters here are generally more intelligent and far more reasonable (there are a few exceptions though).

LOL, no he isn't. He's incredibly stupid at times, which is exceedingly frustrating, because he's SUPPOSED to have a high basketball IQ. He's actually one of the dumber players we have imo.

This place is great. I only go to ND for stories, not the commenting.

Welcome Glory Road!
