What are Jazz going to do?

So you think were gonna be able to bring a Stockton, Malone, Eaton, or D-Will caliber player into Utah by trade or FA? I mean the only reason to say that, is if you think this.

Still, Maravich and Dantly were way back when, when things were different, Pete primarily being on New Orleans, and Dantly coming in at Utah's first years after NO. Jeff Malone was not in his prime and always behind Karl, and Ricky Green being the only exception because he was our first big PG before Stockton, and that was back in the 80s.

That wasn't the point either way, obviously there are some, maybe a couple, geez. The point is Jazz is a small market, and only have 1 15+ million dollar player, while LA has 3 over 19 million. Jazz can't afford "all star" players to just trade for, its not like we have any bargaining chips to get chris paul or melo. The only way to get people that good, is to get them in the draft(as if any of them would come here in the first place). I mean Boozer was a fluke cause Cav's made mistakes and we paid him a lot of money, and he did give us one great season(but he had Dwill and AK47). I figured when writing earlier, everyone would know all this stuff.

The second point is, Jazz don't need a #1 or #5 pick to get themselves guys like Wade, or Durant. Jazz are able to find guys who fit our system who others might not see as valuable. Jazz turned a bunch of unlikely heros into a back to back finals team....and went to the western conference finals 5 times, being beaten by Bulls, Rockets, Super Sonics and TrailBlazers.



I have read several quotes of Millsap saying he wanted a contract extension, that was ready to sign up on this Jazz team. I mean last summer he was wanting one, and then he finally gets one this season, and denies it. His agent or he himself, want to go into FA, which means he plans to move the second someone offers more money, which we can't match(however, I am not 100% if we could match, I am assuming if he is FA, we can offer him more, so I guess he might play next year)

Unless everything is just hear-say, and Jazz and Millsap have an inside agreement that we don't know about then things might be different, even if that is the case, I still see the most logical thing to do is trade him while he is worth as much as he is. Jazz giving him that crazy contract also inflated his price to more than what it should be.

Seriously though, He knows what he is worth, and he already knows he could get more money in FA, he doesn't need to go into FA to find his worth. We already payed him a huge contract, he should be thankful for so much...I say he isn't what he is worth, in all that money we put into him. Favors will surpass him in like 2 years. Even if we can match whatever offer while he is in FA, I say let him walk this way, or trade him before this happens.

With Oden getting buzz recently about possibly playing again (did he ever really play?) and some teams desperate for a true center (Portland, Bobcats, etc.), and the difficulty in replacing him (I know, arguable to some), I imagine that the Jazz will end up throwing big money at Al and resigning him this offseason.

I don't see how they can also sign Sap, unless he gets lower offers than anticipated this offseason. So, I think he becomes the primary candidate for a trade, but for whom is really the question. Maybe they ride Sap out to make a push for the playoffs and see where his value is this offseason as they want to remain a playoff team and are happy with what they have or can get in free agency and/or the draft. I thought for sure there would be a big trade this year, but now I am not so sure.

There is a stretch between now and mid-Feb where the Jazz could rise in the rankings, and the brass might want to see how far this team can go. It would keep up the team's playoff image and placate many fans. Also, if you were a decision maker with your reputation and job on the line, would you give up Sap or Al for potential in an unproven player or a draft pick and potentially end up like the Wizards, Kings, Bobcats, etc?

Actually, if a good trade came up, I would like to get Lowry.

Well we didn't have two draft picks last year, so we just used cap space...

I think Jazz have a good lineup that has really turned around.

The only ones I want to see traded, are Bell, Marvin, and maybe Mo.

Honestly I used to be one of the biggest Al Jefferson haters there was, but lately I wouldn't mind keeping him until Kanter is ready, But we need to get rid of Paul, we might as well get something for him than just letting him just walk, and even if we resigned him derrick is gonna be better than him within a season or two.
