Not putting your best players in at crunch time is tanking in my book. Once MKG gets his minutes, I'll stop calling him Tanklap.

I agree. The things that MKG does well doesn't catch the casual fan's eye or show up in the stat sheet but his hustle and awareness makes us a better team.

just got home from the game a little while ago. i posted a huge rant in the charlotte hornets thread, so i wont comment on that part of the game.

it must really get frustrating for gordon, sessions and haywood to constantly have to bail the starting lineup out. every game these guy enter down 7-10.

biz is lucky to still be getting any minutes. any other team and he'd be glued to the bench.

kemba had 10 assists and i would have guessed he had 3 if i wasnt looking at a boxscore. he only looks to pass when its clear he cant score, which means he is never anticipating the defense, only reacting to the defense. he will only take that next step as a point guard if he learn to anticipate the defense and stay one step ahead.

haywood had a good game again. safe to say he is out of the doghouse.

free throws killed us.

What is the deal with hyphen? Just over 17 minutes tonight, and his stat line was "blah" again. Is he hitting a rookie wall or just getting overwhelmed at this level?

he cant do anything on offense or at least our offense as constructed. we have no shooters to space the floor when he is out there. teams are playing him to drive and the paint is clogged with defenders. he is trying to shoot more jumpers, but of course that isnt going well. things would really open up for him if we had some shooters on the floor.

he did put a glove on evans for spurts tonight on defense though.

agreed. every young team should always have 2-3 smart, well respected vets on the bench, even if they cant play a lick.

What we need to be doing is try to win from the onset and once the game is hopelessly out of hand, take Driftwood and Hak Warrick out and make it "develop Biz and MKG time" and just run plays for them.

Of course, when Mullens comes back this will get more convoluted as Dumblap uses a dartboard to assemble line ups again.

I just hope when Mullens returns that Rocky Adrien doesn't lose any minutes. I rather see Adrien on the floor as a backup than Warrick.

biz shouldnt be starting. i absolutely love biz and want him to succeed, but they have to get him out of the starting lineup. let him play with the 2nd unit. he'll still get 15-20 minutes.

So frustrating

I was hoping that there would be a gif Warrick's shaking his head on the bench after that crucial turnover, I was doing the exact same thing. When they went to him on the very next possession I was out

So I've seen two back-to-back Kings games the last two days. Some things I took away from seeing DMC seeing as he's been a popular debate topic around NBA forums lately.

There isn't much bad you can say about his game. This guy has it all to be a Hall of Famer. From rebounding to the various ways he can score, to court awareness, to his amazing passing ability. As far as basketball as a game goes there is only thing I would criticise him for. In my opinion, he posts up too far from the basket. He has such an amazing, agile and big body that it would be hard for most guys to do anything, if he posted up right outside the paint more often. Instead he likes to settle for receiving the ball 15-feet or farther from the hoop and work from there. Sometimes he won't even put the ball on the floor and will simply bail out the defense by taking a jumper over the defender's out-stretched arm. He does have range, however, he should take those shots when he's 35 and a third option on his team, not now. He's 110/180 at rim, 43/137 from 16 feet and farther out. Use your jump hook more often, DeMarcus...

He still has miles to go to learn how to behave though. Imo, the absolutely worst thing about his attitude is the way he will talk with refs after every single call against him. And by every single call, I really do every single damn call. That's a very bad tendency which can ruin one's career, just ask Rasheed Wallace.

While his body language seemed okay at Memphis, it was horrible at Charlotte. He acted like a 6-year-old who wanted his parents to see that he's not happy with what they have made him do. If a team-mate would turn the ball over, he'd have a Rick Barry "god, I'm playing with a bunch of scrubs" expression and would walk slowly back while Kemba Walker is leading a Bobcats fast break. The worst part is that it even happened the times when Cousins himself screwed up. He moved around like he was playing in the 60s and used the least energy he could get away with. Whenever there was a whistle on a play that involved him, he'd excessively act like he got hurt when the call was on the opponent or took too much time to settle back in the game whenever it was a personal foul on him. He also did bull like tying his shorts and completely ignore whatever Charlotte was doing on offense when we started off the second half. A bad habit I noticed was him slowly drifting off to the offensive end for a possible fast break after the Bobcats put up a shot and rely on his teammates to get the rebound. There were instances when he left them out-matched on the glass.

Considering all this and him doing stupid **** like tying his shorts and still getting ready to play to start off the second half while the Bobcats were already attacking a solid 10 seconds, he still was the best player on the floor. He did his best at looking as disinterested as possible, yet he still finished with a 17/10/4...

If I am any other GM in the league, I'm constantly calling Sacramento and getting on their nerves with a proposal for a trade. If I ever do land him, sign two veteran bigs to teach him about life and put him on his ass every practice (think Juwan Howard and Rasheed Wallace), get an assistant coach who would get on his bull every day (think Charles Oakley) and get a real head coach.

Once again I'm reminded of Coleman. It's almost eerie.

That's my favorite DMC comparison as well.

I don't think you can fix a guy like DMC. Putting guys that would constantly get on his case around him would just set him off even more. Thats my experiences with whiny immature people. it might work on kids or in the military but not on a millionaire than in reality wields most of the power in the relationship

This. He averaged 18/11 last season in his sleep. If he gets his head on straight then he's got perennial All-Star written all over him. If not, well, he'd still be the most productive player in franchise history, not named Gerald Wallace. He's someone I'd overpay for.
