Boozer/Dudley for Rubio/Millsap

Post#1 » by smooveroots » Sat Jan 19, 2013 4:06 pm

Yahoo 9Cat H2H league ...

I was thinking of offering this trade. I need more rebounds since Pek is out for 10 days and I also need a bit more 3's... This GM i am trying to trade with is in love with Rubio. I like the way Dudley has been playing this year and he gives good numbers in all the Cats. I figure Millsap and Boozer are even except for the steals that Millsap offers..The thing is I like Rubio but I feel Dudley will give me more going into the playoffs.

Also, another offer I was working on with another GM is my P Gasol/Rubio for Vucevic/D West or Klay... He is in love with P Gasol

My team is in the signature, what do you guys think of both offers and which one is better to go after ?

Interesting proposal.

Millsap is set to blow up in the second half, though:

According to ESPN's Chad Ford, "virtually every GM in the league believes the Jazz are moving one of their two big men" by the Feb. 21 trade deadline.
This makes plenty of sense. In-house breakout candidate Derrick Favors is chomping at the bit for a starting role and both Al Jefferson and Paul Millsap are in the final year of their contracts. Ford considers Big Al more likely to be traded than franchise-favorite Paul Millsap.

That vibes with my feelings as well. I think they try to re-sign Millsap long-term; he fits in well w/ Favors.

Millsap's had a bit of a down year heretofore, but check out his splits: slowly but surely improving every month.

Boozer has a lot of question marks. Injury concerns (although not major ones), Rose's return, and general decline. Yes, he's regressed to the mean in a big way this January, but he was also pretty awful the previous two months. Maybe he's just now rounding into shape and ready to deliver? Hard to say; he's almost always in great shape, so I don't necessarily buy that.

Dudley def > than Rubio atm, and you gotta project him outplaying Rubio for the next 2-3 weeks, too.

But I am still high on Rubio long-term. I think by March he's posting 3rd/early 4th round value per game. So t40 overall. But there's a chance he loses 15% of his ceiling due to the injury and is only t50. Then Dudley v Rubio is very close; you'd have to say Dudley wins, since he's t70 right now and has been much better than that the past 5 weeks.

In the end I take Rubio/Millsap because they have significantly more upside imo. I do not like Boozer once Rose returns.

No qualms w/ ditching Pau asap. I'm almost done believing in him.

Thanks Apathy, that was well said and in the bottom of my stomach it felt funny putting Millsap on the trading block.. I pulled him off the block before I decided to ask the question on this forum, which has been awesome in helping me with my first year in fantasy bball!!

Thanks to you and the other guys for taking the time to share your experience!
