Clippers say they will be prepared against Golden State

There have been moments in which the Clippers and Golden State Warriors have expressed displeasure with each other, leaving many to think the two teams have taken issue with the other's perceived antics.

The Clippers didn't like the way the Warriors celebrated after two wins over them. The Warriors didn't like how the Clippers went to "Lob City" mode in a win.

"What you've got to do as a coach, as a player is just let it soak in and remember it," Jackson said. "That's all. Mark it down with permanent ink….We'll see ya."

"We have to be focused," Blake Griffin said. "We're not going to get into newspaper clippings. We're not focused on that. We could care less what they say about, 'We're going to be ready for them. We're going to do this and that.' It's a game. We're going to go out and play. It's going to mean a lot to us because it's the next game on our schedule. That's it."

"I haven't really said much," Griffin said. "I'm not sure this side has said much. We've just gone out and played. They've beat us twice. So whatever they want to say, they can say. But we've got to be ready and we will be."

"We've just got to be ready to play," Del Negro said. "It doesn't matter who it is. It's always about us, for me. Whether it's in pencil or magic marker or ink, it doesn't matter to me. Just go play and play well and you'll be fine. We're more than capable of doing that. We know it'll be a tough game, but hopefully that makes us better."

Brad Turner, LA Times

A few weeks ago, this game would have had greater division title implications. Both teams were neck and neck in the division and owning the tie-breaker would be a huge advantage to either team as teams fight for position down the stretch. Now, we have a 7-game advantage and won't likely need a tie-breaker to take the division provided that we keep up with a similar level of performance throughout the 2nd half of the season. That is not a slight to the Warriors, but we have to look at the bigger picture. It's not as much about who the wins are against, it's just about getting wins period. The Warriors want to pay the Clippers back for the previous game. The Clipper players say that they will be prepared for this one. Time will tell who wants it more. For the Clippers, it's opportunity to regain the best record in the league.

The Warriors are an improved defensive team. They're the 2nd best perimeter shooting team in the league and they happen grab a lot of rebounds. We're very inconsistent on the boards and give a lot of open 3's. In our win against the Dubs on the 5th, we outrebounded them 41-30 while allowing only 5 offensive rebounds. They shot a miserable 5 for 20 from downtown. I wouldn't expect them to shoot that badly on their home floor (41% at Oracle for the season), so we have to close out on their shooters and deny them the long rebounds.

These guys have been one of the toughest teams at home imo, in general they've been very good.

This will be tough but I want this win so bad! my best friend, Warrior fan, so makes it even worse losing but sweeter winning!

cmon Clipers! dunno if I'll be able to see this, (8am in aus) but we'll see

need this one to tie the season series.

we have a clean record against Phoenix and LAL and they have a home loss against LAL i remember for sure...so a win here keeps us in the clear for now.

Going to be a tough game after the beat down we gave them in LA, Hoping we come out with a lot of energy and shut them down quick, with OKC tomorrow, would be great if CP3 could rest in the 4th (wishful thinking :D )

I really hope we kill the Warriors today. I lost a ton of respect for Mark Jackson during his staredown last game. Talk about a poor sport that can dish it out and not take it back. What is he like 10 years old?

Another statement game. We need to maintain this nice lead in the Pac Div.

The Clips have to go fast & hard; we got to limit our turnovers. This is a very important game & our "D" really needs to limit the amount of 3 pointers we allow GS.
This is a must win, just to GS that we are the Top Dog of the division!

Less than 5 minutes into the game and Paul has been picked twice.

CP3 may not be 100%. Either way he's struggling against Thompson. I think GS got away with 2 travels, yet Willy gets called.

Blake playing like a beast! Let's hope he keeps it up. I'm worried about CP3. Not cool to see him limping out there.
