This early game stuff didn't work for me. Seems like Paul shouldn't have been playing tonight. I hope his injury isn't anything serious

what'd he say? my link didn't have it

Carl Landry was asked about who the best PF in the league was. If you want to put people in seats, Blake Griffin. If you want to win games, David Lee.

Lee has been in the league 8 years and this will be the first season that he'll have made it to the playoffs. Blake has continually outplayed him throughout their careers to this point. If you want to be a little more specific in comparing, then I don't have a problem with it. To make a comment like that that isn't entirely true, is funny to me.

This speaks for itself.

Blake Griffin career:
20.9 pts / 10.8 rebs / 3.5 assists / 0.9 stls / 2.4 tov / .553 TS%

David Lee career (starter):
18.3 pts / 10.8 rebs / 3.0 assists / 1.0 stls / 2.3 tov / .569 TS%

Blake Griffin per 36 (12-13):
20.0 pts / 9.4 rebs / 3.7 assists / 1.6 stls / 2.4 tov / .557 TS% / 98 Drtg (Team: 100.6)

David Lee per 36 (12-13):
19.0 pts / 10.3 rebs / 3.5 assists / 0.9 stls / 2.5 tov / .567 TS% / 104 Drtg (Team: 104.9)

Blake Griffin vs Lee:
21.4 pts / 10.3 rebs / 3.6 assists / 1.4 stls / .507 FG% / 35.3 mpg

David Lee vs Griffin:
16.3 pts / 10.4 rebs / 3.4 assists / 1.3 stls / .485 FG% / 35.0 mpg

You can't be better than someone if they not only match or out produce you vs everyone else in the league, but also out produce you when you match up against each other (and I'm not a fan of using head to head matchups, especially if the overall production isn't the same, and especially if one person is on a significantly better defensive team)...and the numbers will move more in Blake's favor after tonight's game is added. There isn't any argument for Lee outside of the "I just like Lee better and he's better because I said so".

Not just that, Blake is the better defensive player this season, and it isn't like Lee was playing good defense until now himself. Lee is 29 years old, 6 years older than Blake and has played 5 more NBA seasons. In addition, rookie Blake helped the Clippers win 32 games in a season where the starting PG's combined for 67 games, the starting SG played 56 games, and the guy who was supposed to be the starting C played 32 games. The Warriors won 36 games that same year, and everyone in the starting lineup except for Biedrins played 73+ games. Landry is just a little off on that one, it's nice to support your teammate, but there's no need to take an inaccurate shot at another guy to do so. Cause he's basically saying Blake gives you highlights and Lee gives you substance, but that isn't true.

___________

Btw, even though I hate that he kills the Clippers, I really like Stephen Curry. I've felt that he was better than some PG's people would generally rank ahead of him, he just needed to stay healthy for people to see it. Guy is back up to 45.5% 3PT shooting, and maybe higher after tonight. He's just an insane shooter.

Sorry all, I had to work and missed the game. MK was keeping me updated. When I heard we had a 7 point lead headed into the 4th I liked our chances. Then when I heard we lost I figured the Warriors out shot us again. I was hoping to beat them but what can you do. I think CP3 needs to sit out tomorrow's game. Hopefully we can beat the Thunder.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

Why did VDN play CP3 in the 4th. We had the warriors on the ropes but Vinny made all the wrong subs at the wrong time

It's definitely a positive. All the other teams in the division have had their runs in the 2000's. I was tired of seeing the same old teams always being in the mix and it's good to see some of them being phased out with new teams entering the fray.

If he can stay healthy, he's an absolute steal at the contract that he received. If he is relatively healthy, then he's still a steal. His dad taught him well.

Everybody tries to act like the Clippers are disrespectful or belittling to their opponents, but that couldn't be further from the truth. Our players don't run their mouths in the papers or disrespecting the opposing players' games. Our players don't go around mocking/taunting the opponents. We don't go around looking to do cheap shots on players and we as fans don't even want to see our players pull cheap shots on opposing teams.

I'm pretty sure that Paul is one of the biggest talkers in the league. Caron talks. Blake flops. Crawford talks. I think there is plenty for other teams to get riled up about when they play the Clippers.

On court trash talk is part of the game. Our guys are never disrespectful though. Go find an article or interview with one of the Clipper players mocking or throwing out cheap shots to the media. It's not going to happen. Even during on court celebrations, it's all about congratulating their teammates. Never the kind of crap that people like Bazemore does.

I was having this discussion with my Warrior fan friend, when we blew Warriors out I guaranteed him our players didn't mock/taunt Warriors players when things didn't go there way, like Warriors bench does. It's not going to earn respect in the league.

That type of behavior is celebrated depending on who is doing it and who they are doing it against. There's such a dislike from fans of outside teams on the Clippers right now. Some of it is justified based on one's preferences, but some of it is also a total misconception. Some of the criticisms that are made just aren't true and it's clear that people that make some statements either do not watch the games and are just assuming based on what they have heard, or they have only seen a handful of games of which their perception may have been validated (for that particular game).

Every team flops to some extent. If one of our players does it, everybody starts making youtube videos and gifs so that they can revel in it. If someone flops against the Clippers, Clipper fans don't go out of their way to make gifs, youtube videos, etc. to prove a point. We just keep it moving and let it go. To each his own though.

There are double standards. However, if us doing well means that the haters are going to go overboard with the extracurriculars, then so be it.
