Yeah they did.......with has been's who's games are eroding.

The point is not to win in that instance. It's to be able to take another run with that cap space. It's not a sure thing, but it's either that, or build through the draft, or some combination of both. One way or another we're going to have to take some lumps and start over. This core has pretty much exhausted itself.
Yeah there will be lumps to take. This is what the Lakers were trying to avoid, they thought trading for Howard would be the transition guy. They hoped to snag a title in that 3 year window of these vets, that would've appeased Howard in the meantime while they could rebuild.

Sedale you and I both know that transitioning from one era to another one is the most difficult to do....especially in basketball. The Lakers don't want another 12 year gap, they never got that chance to transition from Magic to some other star like they wanted to.

We got Shaq because he wanted to come here no matter what, that and Jerry was still great at drafting.

Looks like we're going to hit another snag.

Howard had 4 turnovers so Noah was definitely doing his job. But I don't think that was a determining factor.

Dwight could have had the ball more if he'd been looking for the pass. One thing Pau does well is watch the play and only look for the rebound once the shot is actually up.

I've seen Dwight catch two passes off his back this week, and a few other times where he could have caught the pass if only he'd actually been looking for it.

Any of those deals would work for me.

You dont trade a top 10 player for players that are not top 20.

Haha, oh Lakers fans. First, you think the Bulls would accept a Howard for Noah/Deng trade, which is absurd by itself, but then another one comes and says that Deng and Noah isn't a good enough return?!

How can you guys whine about this guy so much, but then expect to get two fringe all-stars in return for him? Get serious.

This game is a wake-up for Lakers fans, and should be for even casual fans observing the Lakers. Here you have you guys' LOADED roster, going up against our relatively barren roster, and get embarrassed. D'Antoni should look at this and realize what Thibs does; he takes the players he has and makes a system to help them succeed. Mike seems to be doing the opposite, which is to say he's taking his system and forcing the players to try to run it, pretty much wasting Gasol, a top PF in the league, in the process when he's not even the issue! If anything Dwight is the one who needs benched.

EDIT: I used to think we had trouble guarding point guards. Steve Nash got treated by Kirk freakin' Hinrich all night long...not good. I read some of your comments about how "well" Kirk has played, but let me assure you, this guy should not be dropping 22 points. We thrive because of our defense, and offensive contributions from varying players to varying degrees, but Hinrich typically hasn't been much of that guy.

You guys have some serious issues right now, and I can't imagine the pain you're going through.

Go Bulls. #TheReturn

Serious question: What'd you guys think of Jimmy Butler?

As a Bulls fan and lifetime Angeleno (mostly ambivalent to the Laker and Clipper cause), this was the first time I saw your circus show. I must say that I almost feel sorry for your implosion.

IMHO, Kobe was just talking waaaay too many shots; not good ones either. Everyone seems to have become Kwame Brown on this team.

Dwight looked as terrible as Tyson Chandler did in the 05-06 season (where he was at his absolute worse under Scott Skiles).

Not Dwight, not Pau, but Mother-fcking Earl Clark of all people was the best big guy you had --- not a bad player, but perhaps just a sign of how bad Dwight and Pau are doing.

Kirk Hinrich,is really not that good at all, you just left him wide open. In fact, you guys seemed to leave a lot of wide open threes for Bellinelli and Nate as well.

Terms like implosion and circus show are a little too hyperbolic even for the current scenario. If circus shows come with the kind of success this franchise has enjoyed over the past decade, I'd gladly take it. What happened with the Knicks for the best part of last decade is a circus show.

The fattest pig always goes to the butcher first, so its no surprise that the franchise taking the highest risks gets rewarded the most and when it does fail on a rare occasion gets ridiculed the most.

I'd much rather prefer what the Lakers have done to the ultra conservative Bulls regime since Jordan's departure.

Right, and the jury's still out on what we've done.
Granted, our performance has been wholly disappointing this season, but those anticipating a title contender with all the changes we made, may have been overly optimistic.

We're under-performing, and we have chemistry issues. Those things are fixable. The question is, do we have the right pieces in place to make those adjustments? The jury is out on that... Most likely until the middle of Feb.

You and me both. I'm pretty sure a lot of Bulls fans would too. There's still some Da-wight to Chicago talk in some parts of the Bulls board.

Just thought it would be interesting to share what I saw as an outsider, given that I live here, play ball here, and still cannot be an ounce interested in the Lakers. Oh well, at least we won't have to worry about where the city will get money to pay for a clean-up.
