Finish season 2012/2013 with

Gasol - Adrien
Biyombo - Mullens

Draft prospect with our top 10 draft Pick.
And that's it.

You have got to be kidding! Pau is 32 years old, and makes 19 million per year. Only a worse gm than Isaiah Thomas makes that trade. Mike slaps Cho for suggesting that he make those trades. I don't even want to know how close that team would be to the luxury tax and not likely even win 50 games.

"The Grizzlies would send big man Marreese Speights, guard Wayne Ellington and guard Josh Selby to the Cavs for big man Jon Leuer. Cleveland would also receive a future first-round draft pick in the deal."

The future first that the Grizzlies would send the Cavs is a 2015 first.

This gets the Grizzlies under the luxury tax.

Grizzlies better hope their starting 5 stays healthy because their bench is annihilated.

I'm Sure Pau would be a valuable asset for the team. He may be 32 years old, he may have a big salary, but he has experience and will directly inspire a ton of respect by the other player.

Gasols contract expires after next season so at best he would be a rental/HUGE expiring, but also a potential asset, but would be a year older.

Which is why I'd be down for a Gordon + Tyrus + very small incentive for Gasol deal.

The Grizzlies are easily a 1st round exit now without a bench. John Hollinger isn't making much of a difference over there after all.

Gordon + Diop + A first round pick (Which one ? Not our own I hope) for Gasol.

With Rudy Gay off the board and the Kings unlikely to trade DeMarcus Cousins I can't envision a deal that would make sense for us moving forward other than Derrick Williams from Minnesota. We might as well continue riding the tank now.

We shouldn't even have to trade away a pick for that deal. They should be happy that we're willing to take on Gasol at this point of his career to give them some cap relief. It's a good chance that Gasol would get here and try to milk his knee tendinitis as a reason not to play.

I'd be okay giving up the Portland pick if it was Thomas+Gordon for Pau. I still would think that we'd need to get someone like Clark or Meeks back.

Incidentally, I think Thomas would thrive (OK, maybe not suck) in LA.

Can you imagine getting Pau, then shipping him with Henderson to OKC for Martin, Lamb, PJ3, and the Toronto pick? Oh the possibilities....

i know you guys won't agree with me but I think Gasol would help us tremendously and make us a borderline playoff team (which doesn't say much in the east though). He wouldn't simulate anything. He will look for a final large contract before he retires so I expect nothing less than 16/10 again from him if he gets traded. Will our chances for a high lottery pick decrease? definitely. Are we going to be a significantly better team? hell yeah

With Gasol in and Gordon out.
It will still bring the fact that Gasol would be the mentor of the team. He will be the only significant player that have a ring on the team. That really knows how the things work in the NBA. Mullens/Biyombo would learn a lot from him.

Without Gordon, that's 21 minutes that could be redistributed between the players. I particularly think at Jeff Taylor who needs more minutes if we want him to turn into a real shooter/Driver/Dunker.

And above all this, next year, Gasol will be a 19M expiring... Which could interest some teams.

A gasol-Gordon swap would be a steal for us. Gordon's struggles can easily be replaced

Just found this on twitter. It looks like Rick Bonnell from Charlotte Observer's speculation/opinion tweet from last night was stolen and re-worded.

Rick Bonnell
@rick_bonnell

In fact, as bad as 2013 draft is, I'd offer Diop, Gordon and Bobcats' pick with top-5 protection for Gasol. Just conjecture...
