My three favorite Novak returns are Artest, Wilson Chandler, and Mbah a Moute. Unfortunately, I don't see the other teams pulling the trigger on any of those.

Maybe somebody "like" Hill though I can't think of another guy off the top of my head for that price.

I could see Denver doing Mozgov for Novak.

I don't love that deal, but we can't go into the playoffs without a reliable third big. Those line-ups with Amare at center yesterday just killed us.

Denver is in no business of paying luxury tax which Novak would put them over next season. That is besides the fact that they have four combo forwards on the roster already.

Just live with Novak already. He has a three year contract. He ain't going anywhere for at least two more seasons.

Artest might actually be possible. Novak would be raining 3's like nobodies business with D'Antoni as the Lakers starting PF and backup C.

Thought Mozzy was on a multi-year too.

Well, no. He is expiring. We can go after him in the summer if we want.

Or trade KT, Brewer, and White for Mozgov, Stone, Quincy Miller.

Works under the checker.

How about this one: http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=bb3wa53

Detroit gets Novak
Dallas gets Daye, Sheed, KT, and Brewer (all expirings, as opposed to Marion who has two years left)
NY gets Shawn Marion

Maybe the Suns buy out Jermaine Oneal and the Knicks can pick him up. JO is the cleanest, personality wise, of the bunch so if the reason they haven't moved on either Birdman or Martin was because of character concerns then JO would avoid that. He's looked pretty good so far this season as a backup guy.

I think Knicks are poised for a trade in the next month. Amare isnt going anyway and dont see a reason to move him anyway. Knicks have too many SF's.

Knicks will make their splash for a PG. The east is loaded with better PG's. Knicks want an upgrade.

A backup PG upgrade you mean? Because Felton isn't going anywhere unless it's some blockbuster trade for a big time PG -- and that ain't happening. Knicks have played well enough with Felton earlier in the yr for them to assume he is good enough for this team- which he very well may be.

Knicks need a backup C for Tyson -- Stat isn't that... and the others are too old.

Need a better backup PG too. I don't anticipate Felton will be out this long again, but i'm not sure Pablo is good enough to be the back up ball controller in the playoffs.

Mozzy would be a good example of the type of backup this team could use for Tyson...

Building Stat's value up and sending him off for a few pieces would obviously be idea-- but I doubt that happens... So only real pieces I can think to move would be Brewer / Novak

I'd love to have Marion in this team.

We send out JR and KT, get back Telfair, PJ Tucker, and Shannon Brown. JR goes to Portland.

Tough to lose JR but our perimeter defense would be elite.

Another one:

Novak
Brewer
KT

for

Telfair
Tucker
Jermaine

and

... Michael Beasley?

Im thinking blockbuster. This year is the best year to make a blockbuster. The summer after this one the Knicks will have their hands full resigning JR and others. This summer Knicks want to make a splash in free agency. Right now we have a lot of assets and not a lot of available playing time. We either let them rot on bench or sell high. Players like Brewer and Copeland are very tradable. We have lots of assets that are attractive. Knick would be best served making a move now.

On the aquistion want list:

John Wall, Derrick Favors or Andrei Kirilenko

How about D.Howard on a Knicks uniform?

Amar'e, T.Chandler, Kurt Thomas and JR Smith for D.Howard, Jamison, J.Meeks and Clark.

Would you do it? Does it work in the salary cap?

NY Trades: Amare, KT, Copeland, and Novak
LA Trades: Gasol, Metta, and Jamison

Four D'antoni-friendly big men for three Woodson-friendly big men

Return to New York Knicks
