Thanks fellas. Full NBA.com preview updated on original post.

Didn't realize Rubio was struggling so much this year. TWolves are significantly better both offensively and defensively when hes not on the court.

Pekovic (thigh) will not travel with the team for their upcoming two-game road trip, Jerry Zgoda of the Star Tribune reports. (about 17 hours ago)

Shved (ankle) will not travel with the team for their upcoming two-game road trip, Jerry Zgoda of the Star Tribune reports. (about 17 hours ago)

Plus of course Love it out.

Thats going to help. Healthy, it would be a tougher game. With these two out, that certainly helps. Need to jump on them early and break them. They are 3-8 so if we take them out early we might be able to make this game a lot easier to win.

If anyone's into betting, the Wolves are +5 favorites and I think flavor-aid aside, I think we all agree that the wizards will win - or at least keep it within 5 points in a loss.

Wow - really? I agree, there's some kool-aid being served at my house, but I find that hard to believe. I'd probably take the Wiz as 5-point favorites, can't believe it's flipped. You sure it isn't the other way around?

That's a pretty surprising line. Minnesota has lost 7 of their last 8 games and 5 straight on the road. The Wizards have won 4 of their last 7 and 3 in a row at home. Minnesota has Love and Pekovic out. The Wizards have Wall, Ariza and Booker healthy.

Maybe the odds-makers think we are playing the University of Minnesota?

Hmm, I think the Gophers could actually beat the T-wolves....

Booker has averaged 6 points, 12.5 boards, 1.5 steals and 1.5 blocks (per 36 minutes) on 50% shooting since his return. The team is +6 with him on the court over that stretch (and +0 with him off).

I revoke my statement, I guess I just get excited seeing Ves playing. Never know what he is going to do

Randy Wittman, back at Verizon Center, says the plan remains the same for John Wall, minutes will stay the same. #Wizards

It's time to start Wall and stop this minutes bs. I'm guessing they will start him after All Star weekend

Clearly, Randy, Ted and Ernie are being ultra-conservative.

Perhaps they are not 'all-in' as some on this board are?

No, they are just driving the tank forward. Imagine Randy on top of an M1 Abrams screaming "FOR SHABAZZ!!! RAMMING SPEED!"
Maybe GhostsOfGil can cook that up in photoshop.

:banghead:

Why cant they start Wall AND comply with his minutes limit? Wall has played 26, 26, 30, 26 and 26 minutes in each of his last 5 games. He generally plays a 9-minute stretch in the middle of each half, a 4-minute rest, and then a 4-minute stretch to close each half. That's a fairly long stretch of play and a short rest. I would think that it would be easier to play him the same or more minutes in a less demanding fashion if they could start him. Instead of going 7-off, 9-on, 4-off, 4-on, they could have him go 7-on, 10-off, 7-on. That gives him no more than 7 consecutive minutes a time, it gives him more rest in between, and he gets to play 2 extra minutes total.

Finally, as most of have discussed ad nauseam, it really seems like Wall would fit better alongside Beal and Webster, than he does with Crawford and Ariza. Also, it makes sense to try to get our 2 building blocks on the court together from a team development standpoint.

If they want to continue to limit his minutes, fine, if they have a medical/conditioning reason behind it. But yea, I'm not sure why he needs to continue coming off the bench. It's not like we're sneaking him in for a couple of minutes here or there; he's already playing low-level starter minutes.
