I know it's McShay but he was really touting Eifert's blocking. I sort of see him as following Kiper's lead but it was interesting to see.

Do you have a link to Jets asking for a 1st & 2nd for Revis? I don't think its likely any teams make that trade.

Eifert is definitely a willing blocker, and showed improvement this year, but that is still far from a strength for him. Love him though, clear top-20 value.

And I only heard that was the rumored asking price on the Mike Heller show driving home today. I agree, any team would be nuts to give that much, let alone Ted.

Yeah, the only thing holding him back is the amount they are over the salary cap.

If anybody thinks Eifert or Ertz is going to be a star as rookies they're not looking at this thing fairly. Yeah, they're both probably better athletes, but both will drop balls and both are only average blockers at the college level. The only edge they have over Finley is in potential and salary cost, because you can bet Finley's a damn better route runner, and he knows the system extremely well, on top of that you don't spend a draft pick on him.

For whatever reason people look at the TE spot and assume just because somebody's really athletic they're going to be a star at TE. Look at Cameron Jordan, guy was as athletic as hell and he hasn't done anything. Skill also plays a part in the TE position and Finley is skilled.

Nobody in this draft is an upgrade over Finley next season. Three years from now, it's possible, maybe even probable, but Finley right now is the clear better player.

Agree about finley's considerable talent now. I don't draft a TE this year until 5th rd or later if at all. i would not trade Finley unless it allowed us to land BOTH Revis & Spencer.

We've been through this a bit already, but in order:

- He dropped some balls early in the season.
- After his drops Rodgers lost faith in him. Rodgers started freelancing and ignoring some checkdowns to Finley.
- He was used a lot to clear defenders, I know everybody's sick of hearing the diversion line but it really is the truth.

When Finley's mentally ready to go he's a ridiculously good route runner, especially for a guy his size.
Finley actually does know the offense really well. He does a good job making his reads.

Obvioulsy he's not totally all there. He's got a propensity for running his routes a yard short of the marker and his hands continue to be an issue as well as his blocking, but calling Finley not skilled is dumb.

There's no way Ertz or Eifert are as good as Finley was this year. They might produce more but that's because defenses won't respect them as much and will concentrate more on shutting down the receivers.

Fair enough. I just don't think Finley is ever going to be much better than he is now. His drop problem has been well-documented as he was supposedly going to work on that last offseason. I didn't say he wasn't skilled I said he was relying more on athleticism than skill. I consider blocking a skill as well as catching a football, he's not a good blocker so that detracts from his overall skillset.

If the Packers somehow acquire Revis, they'll extend him. That might leave Raji as another odd man out, after Clay, Rodgers, and Revis. We'd be really really thin on the DL.

Raji already makes ~$6 mil. I think another $2-3 mil/year would suffice, it's not like he has been playing like an pro-bowler since the SB.

yeah, i don't see Raji being 10+ mil per year either. but we'd have rodgers, clay, and revis, all 3 of those guys might be in the top 20, maybe top 10?, salaries in the whole league. but i guess other teams have done it, like bal with ray lewis, reed, suggs, ngata, that's possibly close?

I would love Revis on the team, but yeah I'm more afraid of how much it will cost to extend him than how much it will cost to acquire him from the Jets. It seems like he's always complaining about his contract, wants to be paid like a qb.

The Green Bay Packers, Denver Broncos, San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks are teams that are believed to be highly interested in acquiring Darrelle Revis via trade.

The New England Patriots and Buffalo Bills are also interested, but the Jets are not expected to trade Revis within their division.

The Packers have been constantly mentioned as an interested party in Revis across all sources.

Exactly. That and not hiring Scot McCloughan when he lost his power struggle in SF were pretty big mistakes IMO. He was one of the architects of SF and Seattle now.
